Hey, you got them spot on! It's Illumination + wrath for the dyes.

I prefer my champion of the sun look but here's my warrior as Protector of Lion's Arch:










I'm not a big fan of many of the higher tier armour sets but i like this tier 3 set the most out of all level 80 heavy armours for humans.

I realise why i only thought the armour was alright and not epic considering it cost me 119 gold. The shoulders are not symmetrical, very small and look naff. Lost 12 gold by replacing these shoulders (I think it was 12 gold) so look before you buy is my advice!

This will probably be my final warrior set build. To my eyes the tier 3 human female set is now epic and pops very well!

The Wing Shileld is quite Roman looking.
And for the 1H sword you could use the Lion's Arch sword, it really looks Roman.

I'm jealous that those leggings seem to fit well with normal chest pieces with men. The girl version leaves a bit gap between, it looks  really ugly. -.-

You might like the new Krytan Shield from the Fractal Dungeon - it looks rather "Roman" if you ask me - a kite-shaped shield in white with golden outline and a golden lion crest in the centre - if I remember right.

Kite shields aren't really Roman though. They used more Round or Oval shields, sometimes Tower shields to "Turtle".
The Wing Shield mentioned by Arquenya is a good choice.

Wtb Tower shields and 1h Halberds that I could use with it, like in Dark Souls

And about 1 Halberds - who knows what the expansions bring, 2h Axes for Warriors for damn sure but besides that - not much known yet

Havent really looked into HotW gear, but that could actually look pretty nice. Preview looks kinda meh but could farm for it anyway.

I got the HotW leggings yesterday but I was majorly disappointed - the "cloth" part really dyes horribly (it makes most light dyes 4 hues darker and greenish - and is the same dye part as the front).



.. or is it just the girl's version they screwed up (like the Roman leggings)?

I didn't really have a problem with the legs, then again I always picked darker hues because of the front panel like you said... that part really annoyed me. Why not just make the legs have 4 dyeable sections?

Here's my warrior, the set is entirely Invader armor skin (the one you buy for badges in WvW), but you can buy it for low karma at npcs in Frostgorge Sound.
I'm not a big fun of helmets, I'd rather show my hairstyle off all the time

I like the dredge stuff better, but I tend to not like huge spiky things as much as the general player base does.  And I also like the SE armor in general because of steampunk vader, but that's another story for another time.
