But thanks for this tip, been wanting a hood on my ranger for a while and now I have one.  Looks amazing with the human cultural armor lvl 3, too bad I can't afford it. :-(

Reading the last few comments... I'm now tempted to make a throwaway thief alt or two, just so I have backup hoods in case of transmutation screwups!

Though my character's so darn cute it's almost criminal to cover up with a hood.

It's the starter hood! but in celestial white and abyss dye i presume!

what? all starting hoods are the same. You have the choice between a mask a headband and a hood. The hoods all look like this. The masks are just mouth bandanas.

It's actually a midnight blue and celestial.  And yes, it is the thief starter hood on my ranger.  If you have the full faced mask it's because you chose anonymity instead of subterfuge on your thief.

The armor is the duelist set.  The 'named' medium armor also shares the model (Nika's, Dwayna's, etc)

You guys do know Leatherworkers make goggles, I think they look better than the engineer ones. Of course I have my lvl 1 hoodie. You guys are lucky someone found a solution to get it back!!!

+10 euros for Anet/NCsoft because of this. xD I bought a new character slot.. didn't feel like farming. Hopefully next time I support them guesting is on, target self is possible, and there's first person view.

There are some hoods in the light armors yes. And that us exactly what this guide is for. To get your hood back when you lost it. You can get your hood back by making a new thief and transmuting that hood

I know there are, all that seems to drop for my ele are hoods. Creating another thief would require either deleting a character or buying a ninth character slot.

does this work with culture gear? or maybe even the orders gear?

you can transmute any kind f equipment but i doubt you can transfer all soulbound item between characters.
why would you want to do that anyway if you can buy the cultural/order armor with your other character too

hi, yeah it does, i did it yesterday... within half an hour i found the black dye, now im just a full black hooded thief. . the way it should be (until i find white dye)

Doesn't seem to work anymore. I just tried it and it won't take the hood from the bank. It says that it is soulbound to another character. That's too bad

It still works, I just successfully did it.

Just follow the steps listed in the OP.

I tried it again and now it works. Made propably some error yesterday when I tried it at first time. Now I'm a happy man

gawd, i am failing hard and i want my hood back sooo bad

when i put my new startup thief's hood in the bank, whether it's transmuted already or not, my lvl 80 thief can't move it move it back to his inventory so he can equip/use it. can i somehow do a transmutation if the newbie thief's hood is still in my bank?  if i could just get it in my inventory..

as an aside WTF the first thing i did when i started playing was sell that hood, how are we supposed to know it's one of a kind lol.  anyway any help is appreciated!

update: werd, got my hood!  the only thing i did different was to keep the hood equipped on my startup thief until i made it to the bank, but that really doesn't make much sense?  in any event, time to blow the rest of my stones on hoods for my other characters.  thanks OP and thread for the heads up on this!
