So I was looking to re roll as a Necro and was wondering your opinions on what class looks the best in the armor. I'm thinking either human or Sylvari. What do you guys think?

Personal preference really, subject to varied opinions that will likely not be very helpful to you. It also depends on which armor you're talking about...any screenies or examples of the look you finally want to achieve?

How many other races can almost look like they're in Death Shroud all the time?

asura is pretty cool but i would go charr or norn just cause i seem to see far less of those races playing necro.

Necro is one of the only professions that actually looks good on all of the races

Norn (male) necro is pretty mean lookin. Their light cultural armor fits the class really well, I think.

I also picked norn because when you go lich form it still resembles your character somewhat.

Depends on your tastes. Make a necro for each race in cc and decide which you prefer.

I was originally going to make my necro a Sylvari, but it just didn't feel right to me once I actually tried playing one. I rerolled as a female Norn, just playing around, and I have to say, she looks pretty awesome. Not a race I ever expected to play as a necro, but I'm really feeling it.

I'm playing a Norn, and it actually works quite well. Her build is slightly "stalky", and her hair really works with her personality. Not to mention the more "deep" voice. It all just sort of fits together. But it is a personal preference!

Definitely human, only with a human can you make the super cute Gothic Lolita look work, perfect for the necro aesthetic.

Personally I'd say Sylvari. Sexy human female necros are just silly in my opinion.

Something small, skinny and bony, hunched and outcast wouldn't hurt. Something like Forsaken.

As this is not option unfortunalty, go for a small, pale and skinny human or sylvari. If sylvari, try using a thorns hairstyle and pale white skin color if you can find one. The point is to make it look as sickly as possible. If you go for the human, try the same approach. Only thing different is that you can add facial hair and hairstyle to back up that rugged and sickly look.

The point is, nothing remotely sexy, think of old cartoony whiches with 1 eye and 2 teeth, And old wizards that dabbled in wrong books for far too long. Any Lovecraft character that sided with Old Ones would do.

IMO it depends, people who want to play a dagger/blood magic/vampiric necro should go sylvari, minion mancers should go charr and casters (dps or support) I feel are best suited as Asura. I wouldn't roll human, human are the most popular race by far atm and it's kind of annoying to see that many. (Also it kills any sense of individuality) I am a Charr and LOVING it. Especially the Personal story. Having played all 5 races up to at least early-mid 20's, I am going to say that charr have by far the best personal story. (followed by the Asura, then Sylvari, then Human and Norn are both pretty bad; can't decide which is worse.)

So I would go either charr or Asura

I've played a Sylvari necro, and Asuran. I didnt feel the whole necro-wibe with the Sylvari (I'm an evil plant), and the Asura one, well.. I love their animation and that their smart and all that, but their too tiny for me. I want to show off a little, hah. So I tried rolling a Charr, and I dont regret this! As someone allready have stated, theres not that many charr necroes out there, thats also something I like. And their whole attitude just fits perfect (at least in my head) and I made him look like an evil demon (no need for Lich form, hah!)

what's wrong with non-ugly necromancers? I mean, they can drain life can't they? it's pretty traditional as well "beautiful queen draining the life from young maidens to stay eternally youthful"

and don't forget our characters aren't that old, charr for defnite still have their fathers alive (except loyal soldier I think) and there aren't any sylvari older than 25 (unless you count the tree as a sylvari)

I personally chose a charr, because if you're going to play the creepy dark evil profession you may as well be a big hulking catbeast with demon horns
