Okay, so i got to his tomb in the Harathi Hinterlands. I did the

hidden event triggered by kneeling at the statue of dwayna

But what I can't figure out is why they would bury Saul, the founder of the new religion right next to a statue of one of the six true gods?
Any thoughts?

So that's how you trigger it. As an Order of Whispers member, you can find out who is an agent and by revealing them to you they give you a hint about hidden things (most often jumping puzzles or chest locations), and one mentioned touching a statue of Dwayna but I didn't think of that... though in hindsight I facepalm at the obviousness...

Well there's three things for why Saul's empty coffin (remember: they never had a body) would be buried in a crypt with a statue of Dwayna (they're in two separate rooms).

1) Saul was open with the Five Gods faith - as shown in the War in Kryta, he made laws that allowed preserving the old faith's temples (specifically Temple of the Ages, at least). Him being buried near a Statue of Dwayna may have been part of that recognition.

2) The tomb was there in Demetra long before Saul and the White Mantle made it a holy place, and they just kept the statue there.

3) Saul was a monk?

and  after talking to that one guy in the camp and he gave me the special chat option, i need to talk to npcs more often lol.

It's quite possible that his tomb was placed there because quite frankly it's the last place anyone would expect it to be.

what dosnt make sence to me is.

in guild wars 1 we were told that after saul defended kryta from the charr invasion with help from "the unseen one's" they took saul as a sign of there power. but now we have a npc in gw2 talking about this crypt as if he once had been put to rest there.

have i missed some huge lore thing?

Not a huge lore thing, the white mantle just told everyone else saul died in the battle, and had already buried his body =/ that's why

"boss ghost" is new to me, guess that's related to the kneeling at the statue bit.

But yeah: Saul was taken away, but Dorian, Hablion, and Thommis all said he died in battle and that's his empty coffin - it's empty because there was no body to bury. It's more of a memorial tomb than an actual crypt.

The heart NPC, being a sylvari and White Mantle's truth more or less lost to the commoner, doesn't know there was never a body to bury.

Oh I went here the other day and did the statue thing, spoke to the girl, but didnt see the boss spawn... Is there something else we have to do for him to spawn?

Also, is it a veteran or champion mob?

It was a vet. boss. She tells you to speak the boss's name at Saul's Tomb. So unlike the dialogue the tomb usually gives when you examine it, after speaking with the ghost, you go to the tomb, click on it, and see an option to speak the boss's name. Then you fight.
