Let's start from the best part: monthly event participation. To me this seems completely rational. Completing 100 events is doable for anyone in a month. The same goes for monthly WvW kills as the kills are rather easy to get and you can use multiple characters to achieve them. Monthly salvage kit usages are pretty good as well, even though I'd perhaps preferred a monthly crafting achievement or monthly gatherer achievement.
Then we get to the part that screams for a change to me. The sole experience survivor. Now, I am not complaining about it being impossible to get. It is hard for low levels, yes, but it is certainly doable when you're level 60 or so, or even earlier. However, it seems weird to me that the monthly achievement requires you to do something without dying once (which means you have to focus on pve and avoid falls and huge zergs of mobs) and doesn't tolerate logging out or even changing zone or doing a personal story quest. Perhaps even waypointing breaks it (haven't tested really, but I think that it does).
I acknowledge that most of this is probably not unintended. The way I see it, it seems that the feature was meant to be doable even if you log out or change zones. Either way, the sole experience survivor seems unfun to me and at least it doesn't fit to my playstyle (at level 53) that I would go and focus on one PvE zone non stop to get this achievement done, which can take hours and hours. I would at least fix it so that you could log out but an even better solution would be to change it to monthly experience/karma collector. Then you could collect experience without worrying about PvP deaths or fall damage and still get the monthly achievement.
I also know that the achievement is not a must-to-have but so far I haven't met anybody who actually likes pursuing this goal. What do you guys think about it?

At level 80 you get 10k+ for a single dynamic event, and the monthly survivor only takes 100k to do for your month.
To put that in perspective, doing Twilight Arbor, a level 50 dungeon, gives you 34k at the end. That alone is more than 1/4th of what you'd need. Imagine then, what you'll get for finishing Arah?
Point is, you really cannot judge it based on anything below 80, or at least 70. It took me all the way till about 60 to finish mine for the first month, where as doing it for this month I got it on the first day.

I'm level 41 right now and cant get that by farming one zones dynamic events over and over, even after I get map completion.
But as Adeptus said it's probably more easily attainable at level 60+ since experience seems to scale with your level.

Also, with the Experience Survivor portion, remember that once you gain a tier, you don't lose it. If you die or it bugs on teleporting or zoning, you only lose that experience you've earned within the tier you're working on. You don't start back at the first tier of the achievement.

I do like to work towards this achievement. In GW1 all my characters were legendary survivors (even back before the punching). Just another target to aim for "fun".
Then got logged out for maintenance and the progress bar won't update anymore.
I even stayed in one zone and ran/walked everywhere.....
Hope they fix the zoning/personal story, etc. stuff.
But then maybe I can do it when my characters are higher level too.

At level 80, it'd be fairly easy for anyone.

100.000xp isn't that much when you rack in 20k+ per event. You just have to stay alive for 5 consecutive events, which I wouldn't consider an extreme feat.

And they definitely should fix the scaling so low level chars don't have to do so much work compared to the high level ones.

I think taking stonemist castle or any keep when you have a level 80 character gets you about...50k xp?
That said, at lower levels, it was a pretty major challenge. Crafting is probably the easiest method.
