Seriously its true, well if you go into crafting you will only loose money but in the end you can sell lvl400 craft materials and stuff.
So i would say if you want to make money stay away from the crafting stations, other than that make sure you always have a spare slavage kit with you and harvesting tools.
Dont mind wonder off you route to get that mine, herb or wood you see in the mini map, go for it!
Do events! Again even if it is a little away from where you were heading. the karma and money you get are worth it.

As u discovered "Ppl" say all kinds of silly things. Those "Ppl" have no clue how economics work on larger markets. While the comment is not wrong in general, the GW2 market is a little more complicated than this simple rule. Basically trade margins are hard to find and manipulating the market is problematic, because of the size. Speculation will work on the long see "molten cores" or "mystic coins".
U can still make profit, by carefully combine TP knowledge with crafting and find items that keeps selling and have "stable" resource prices.

Armorsmithing mats are on top demand. Stuff like vial of blood and claw sells really fast. If you can get those in low price just buy it since a lot of people buying it.

The only way to get gold in any cash shop game is to buy it from the cash shop with real money.
All these schemes you see posted are bogus and planted as 'come ons' by schills.
Between repair bills, waypoint costs, and continously adjusted down value of drops, cash shop based games make sure that 1 income is limited, and 2 there are ample 'sinks' to soak up any windfalls.
Happens any time a game company relies on cash shop income to exist.
They have been mostly focusing on PVE for now, but WvW is next for income nerfs.

Since i'm level 80 and i don't think i'm the biggest farmer/grinder in GW2 i can simply state. No, if the current gold sinks, stay at this level GW2 is heading toward a hyper inflation. Once the exotic/legendary amount is meet, there is much more gold income than sinks. This means most players will stop if they attain there 2-3 exotic sets/weapons and either grind for dungeon skins or legendaries or play sPvP/WvW.
The gem shop has very little incentives to convert gold/gems, so for most players this gold sink does not work at all. So we have to see what Anet does in the future.

Tbis shouldn't need to be said but I'll say it anyway: There are items with profitable margins, sell those. Hint: they're not the ones with 20,000 orders.

have never did before "buy low sell high" strategy in gw2... so is this margin feasible?
