Should've incorporated more elements related to plants, nature; bark, vines, water, earth(dirt, rocks), etc..

You can get a box of exotic armor at the trading post for half the cost of one piece. It seems a little strange that you should be expected to pay 10 times as much just because you like the look.

That's the difference in this game and other MMOs. The stats are cheap and everyone can have them fairly easy. Keeps the playing field even and more skill based.
If you want to look like the most epic thing on your server, it'll cost you.

That's the point of prestige armor. It was the same way in gw1. If you want to grind for gear, you're going to grind for looks and not stats. It's entirely optional so that people don't feel the pressure of needing it in order to be competitive.

Oh, I get that it should be expensive, and that it's mostly about looks in this game. What Bothers me is the cost scale, you can get the tier 1 armor with the amount of money you normally have by that level just doing hearts and levelling, same thing with tier 2.
If you want the tier 3, it would make sense that you should be able to save the money to get it while leveling, not have to wait until months later. I mean, it's not even exotic, by the time you manage to save that amount of gold, you aren't even going to wear it, you're going to purchase it pretty much for the sole purpose of transmutation.
I think they should follow the scaling. The tier 1 armor costs a total of 2g 88s. Tier 2 is 7g 10s. Tier 3 should be something like 25g, not 119g.

Heh ok that does make a bit more sense but not all the sylvari cultural light armors give you the fairy wings/fronds coming off the back
Personally I'd like to see some other variations on cultural armor. Some of it is rather bland.

Food for thought that may play into my action: I only have one character. I will only have one character.

"You, I wouldn't wear if I got you for free... begone, you unsightly piece of garbage..."
That was my reaction upon seeing practically every armor I looked at for my female sylvari necromancer. The armors I like best for her top out at the "barely tolerable" level. All of those are dirt cheap as it happens.
She's retired now, for the most part. Consequence of a game about cosmetics when the aesthetics of the game are not in line with your tastes. Nothing to play for.

Not only is no one forcing you to pay 200g for armor that has same or worse stats then any of the crafted armors - if you choose to do it by real world moneys, depending on how much you make per hour at your dayjob - it wouldn't even be a dent compared to how much time it takes to farm same moneys in the game.

The game is new if we could all get the best armour and weapons in the first few months what on earth will keep us playing.
I will keep playing and saving and in the end get the weapon and armour that I personally like the best not those others value the most.
I only obtained elite armour's in gw1 for the benefit they gave me in the hall of monuments.

Honestly I wish I hand't obtained the armor so fast. It would have been a good intermediate goal.

That's actually a pretty good result. I thought there were numerous others that really went the whole hog with the black lion's chests and got very little out of it. In essence, they lost in game coin on the venture.

Im so tired of reading this. You never played GW1, don't talk like if you knew it. On GW1 Obsidian was a prestige armor because you had to grind and work for it, not just pay gold to a NPC and collect it.
Tier 3 cultural armor IS NOTHING like Obisidian from GW1. There it was an achievement, in GW2 it is a matter of seconds: just type your credit card in the gem exchange and buy it.
*ing clueless people.

Goodness gracious! For the folk that will actually spend a few hundred dollars IRL to get T3 cultural in a matter of seconds...more power to them.

Except it's not. At least Obby Armor (and Vabbian, which was more expensive in the long haul, BTW) had max stats.
For 120G, it really ought to be exotic...

Just for the record... I have 6k+ hours in the GW1, this is my gw1 wiki page (For those in the known, That is the picture of me in 15k Plate armor dyed Black before the NF dye update) you can find my page on the old wiki as well going back to August 31st of 2006.... Info is out of date but you get the idea... I most deffinitly played the god damn game... 10 second search on gw1 wiki would tell you that...
I personally got paid 10k-20k+ for "running" to the Forgemaster, who will "give" the armor to you.
All of the materials can be paid for with ingame money... Ingame money you could have gotten from ALL kinds of sources... one particular source for instance ZKeys you got for Balth Faction from Hero Battles "Zquest" (which you won or lost in seconds by throwing dice) got you 300k+ of doing it easy/duration of the quest - do that 3 times and u have your Obsidian armor.
Not to mention bloody gold sellers that were just as easy and convinient in GW1 as they are with Anet selling Gems, rich friends with stacks of ectos and paypal accounts were 100% safe too.
p.s.

Btw,,, not sure what u mean by Vabbian being more expensive, getting it took 25k, 16 saphires and 16 rubies + some other mats under 10k, sapphires and rubies while fluctuating between 2-3k and ca12k were still cheaper then 120 ectos, 120 shards...

No way! The heavy T3 headpiece was one of the reasons I decided to roll Sylvari.

sapphires and rubies fluctuate far higher then 2-3k try around 8k give or take a few k in either direction. Just for the record. Still it is cheaper then obsidian armor even with prices similar to ectos.

And you still are clueless about GW1 AND GW2.
tier 3 cultural armor IS NOTHING LIKE obsidian, obsidian armor was an achievement for months of grind and work, when you finally displayed it, meant that you were a dedicated player.
When someone walks around in T3 cultural armor I just think they camp the auction house 24/7 or bought chinese gold, it is not and will never be a prestige armor, just a set of expensive armor you exchange for gold on a NPC.

Did you not read anything after the first sentence? Having obsidian armor meant you had ca 1.2mill. It did not mean that you were grinding for months... IF the only way you can think of getting money in the GW1 is hard sweat of the brow grind... and in GW2 is buying Gems with Money... you should probably stop insulting people who do not agree with you calling them clueless, glass houses and all...

Oh yeah, because power trading wasn't the best and fastest way to make a ton of money in GW1, right ?
