Update:

Details have been requested so here’s the rest of what you need to understand how we’re using Glicko 2. These are fairly specific details so feel free to ignore them if you don’t get excited by math

Assume the shards are sA, sB, and sC. In order to handle a 3 way battle we treat each match as having two battles for each shard. So when calculating the new rating for sA the two battles are sA vs. sB and sA vs. sC. Likewise for sB and sC. Naturally, we do all the calculations before updating any of the data.

We use a Tau of 0.6 and a k of 1.0

In standard Glicko 2 scores are represented as 0.0 for a loss, 0.5 for a draw, and 1.0 for a win. We use a slightly modified version that takes into account score differential. I’ll explain how using the sA vs. sB battle as an example. To calculate the glicko score for sA in the sA vs. sB matchup we do the following:

sAPercent = sAScore / (sAScore + sBScore)
sAGlickoScore = (sin((sAPercent – 0.5) * Pi) + 1) * 0.5

where sAScore and sBScore are the raw scores from the end of the match.

I'm very much in disagreement with your assessment lol. Gate of Madness is pretty talented, definitely proved that yesterday. Fort Aspenwood has seemed very organized from what little I've played today and should probably switch with IoJ who face it, got +710d by Dragonbrand within a few hours of reset and they didn't really take anything all day or night or next day. And we're not even one of those top tier servers.

Shame to see Sos and GOM down lower in the rankings, I really thought with their heavy oceanic presences they would have been ranked in the upper tiers for sure.

I actually had to guess on a few of the mid ranked servers because there is less public data about them, (less discussions and such)

In my experience I would say EBay belongs one rank lower.  We have accounted for everyone in the bottom easily enough, while servers like Borlis Pass and Sanctum Of Rall seem to be about our level.  Yesterday however, we (along with Rall) got smashed by Sorrow's Furnace.

Hard to say, I wasn't there at the end.  I know EBay was second going into the maintenance period last night, but post-downtime Sorrows were pretty much the only ones to log back in.  After a couple of hours there wasn't much left of either of the others.

SoS has been matchup with TC, GoM, AR and has very much been able to hold their own. It's never a complete wipe in US prime time (we hold usually around 25%, we lose out in the battlegrounds where we can't field a full presence), and come oceanic prime time the map usually goes 75%+ SoS

I do not think that this means they are "better" than those servers, generally just more populated with a 24 hour balance. Unfortunately that is a key aspect to any WvW.

The lower brackets might not as accurate as I want it to be because of the lack of data, Lower ranked servers are holding back posting their matches and the winners

A B C D F is a common grading system in America that I did it without thinking about it, I can change it to the letter E however

Isle of Janthir, Rank C is currently crushing two of your Rank Bs (NSP and Yak's), and narrowly came out on top of a Rank A (Maguuma) in the last 2 days. Lost to Eredon Terrace but came out above Crystal Desert in the same match up.

Probably should be bumped up to Rank B.
