Definitely would like to see some new races, I think at this point we can speculate the Tengu being the primest candidate, followed by the Largos and possibly the Kodan. Hate to crush everyones hopes and dreams, but we will definitely not see any of the lesser races (quaggan, hylek, skritt, grawl, ogres) or the ancient races (mursaat, seer, dwarves, jotun, forgotten) as playable. The lesser races are well established as being lesser in the personal story, they also lack conventions such as structured society or a basic standard of intelligence required for a playable. As far as the ancient races, they are ancient, nuff said. Their prime time has been in the past and most of them predate the arrival of the gods, meaning they also have knowledge of magic not limited by the bloodstones. Lore wise these guys are a no brainer for many reasons.
I would love to see housing the in player's personal instance, or at least some thing like a Hall of Monuments. Players can use this to store phyiscal achievements and also bring other players in to show off! Guild halls would be nice.
PvP lets get some Random Arenas. Due to the "every profession fits every role," unblalanced teams wouldn't be a problem in this game like it was in Guild Wars. Objective games are fun, but sometimes nothing beats a simple deathmatch. And need I say more, for a guild hall update, bring on the GvG?

Realistically, I would say:
-Some classes mechanics fixes
-A couple or two areas (There are so many gaps among explorable areas in the game which can be made into new maps that they can choose from
-Quests (come with the new areas, obviously)
-New weapons? (Well, great axe is definitely coming for Warrior, but how about a melee option for Engineer, like, hammer?) I also would like to see an introduction of land-based polearm, as well.
Now for not so realistic expectation:
-A new race (Tengu? Kodan?)?? I do not know about you guys, but any new races are welcome. I am personally trying to have one race for each profession and now I am limited to 5
-A new class (if ANET can make sure it does not mess up the pvp aspect in some way, I won't have a problem with it, but the pvp oriented players will sure make the noise)
-Reintroduction of more armor sets from GW (if they can bring back Primeval Armor, why not the others?). I am quite certain old fans will be swarming over them (provided that they are the good looking ones, that is)

it actually is not. It means that instead of having 5 abilities for my shortbow i'd like a pool of say 30-40 that i get by spending skill points to buy and capture them so i can make customize able sets of those abilities that i save to templates that i can swap between out of combat.

Balance what's in place now and then later throw in some more choices for all the classes. At the very least, at least give the weapons more skills and allow us to swap those out. I've been using the same skills since like level 6. I don't think it's absurd to ask for something...anything different.

- Bug fixes. Lots of them.
- More and better ways to get Ascended gear. Also a way to choose what stats I get on my Ascended item.
- More armour skins.
- Legendary precursor scavenger hunt.
- Dungeons and loot rework.
- Making the home instance a place I want to spend time in. Like adding player housing to it.
- Ring of Fire islands.
- Realm of Torment. I don't care that we cleaned up the place 250 years ago, I wanna kill more demons. I'm sure they can come up with some plotholes to add it back to the game.
- Duelling.

Well it might be huge publicity for Anet.
Before launch, and even now, alot of the hardcore MMO crowd are convinced Anet will not support the game because of the no-subscription fee.
So if Anet would even add a new profession/race for free, that would shut them up, and show they have big plans for the game.

All of the dungeons can be done with any combination of classes, so as long as the players aren't completely fail I think that a dungeon finder would be a boon.

I think it would be awesome to choose your weapon skills as well. Similar to how the utility skills work at the moment, you just click on the arrow and more options come up. 1 could have a few different skills, 2 would have different skills, 3 would have other skills, and so on. I agree that it gets a little tiring when you've had the same skills and the same build since level 6. I've tried mixing it up with various weapons, but honestly? A greatsword and longbow work perfectly fine with my ranger and if I change them then I just don't feel as powerful (plus I'd have to get brand new level 80 exotic weapons as well as sigils to make them as good as what I already have).

Less bulky (medium/heavy) boots
RP stuff: sitting on chairs, campfires, town clothes, more emotes
Useful elite skills, more skills in general
Alliances!!!
Cross server dungeon group finder
Dyable weapons
CTF PVP
Challenging content
What I don't want to see:
More levels
Higher stats gear
More races
More classes
Generally I'd like to have more to do for what we already have and more quality (depth).
Really, I feel very disheartned by the mere idea of levelling yet another character.

-More robust PvP options and game modes
-Deathmatches
-Revamp of reward system
-In-game ladders
PvE
-More expanded lateral progression. I feel the current potential of lateral progression is squandered with how they implemented dungeon rewards and to get desirable runes/sigils you basically have to throw money at the because there's really no obvious way to hunt/farm for them.
-Better loot
-Revamp of old areas to increase challenge
-Revamp old dungeons to be more engaging, and more rewarding
General
-Bug fixes for various classes.

oh and Guild Halls + Guild capes/scarves/accessories, guild halls are a must have, you cannot introduce such an important guild function in the predecessor and leave it out in the current
and guild capes/other things because fashion is where it's at in the end

yes I've been thinking about that too, though it may be a bit hard to balance, since Anet is not the best at balancing and previous experience would say that GW1 was a balancing nightmare

Well then there is no problem.
If defensive people can survive it and offensive ones don't, there is no problem.
Only solution would be to lower the difficulty even more, something alot of people (me included) would hate, cause there already is lamost no hard content in the game.

several of the damaging conditions need to be reworked honestly.
For instance look at burning. An ele or engineer can keep it up pretty much all the time by themselves. Anybody else applying it will eather be doing nothing of benefit to the group or be completely overriding the formers efforts making them pointless.
Honestly burning was better in the closed beta because it worked just like bleeding but then they changed it because they were too similar.
As for what I would like to see in the first expansion or possibly in a very large patch.
1: New areas on the map with real stories. Cantha & Elonia would be cool to see.
2: New weapons with new skills, existing weapons being able to be used by more professions & new utilities for existing professions. (I would love to see this soon, Great axes have been talked about allot & arena.net has hinted at them)
3: A new race or 2, Tengu would be cool, so would Kodan.

- New exclusive holiday skins from Black Lion Chests
- Additional ways to acquire new ascended items through mystic forge (requires 50 ectos, ofc) and as random drops from dragon chests (0.001%)
- Ascended mystic awesome stones available from the gem store that greatly increase your chances of getting ascended items out of the forge (oh, of course you're not guaranteed these new items! That would just be silly!) Zommoros loves stones! mmm, stones.
- More awesome adventures with Destiny's Edge and Trahearne await you in all-new dungeons locked behind bugged events. Just in case you didn't get enough of Logan's butthurt in the first place!
- Added New kind of boosts to the gem store, such as salvaging booster and gathering booster.
- Added more town clothes and costumes. Put your costumes to good use in paid costume brawl tournaments that you can enter using tournament tickets and win exciting prizes (such as Kill Streak Exp boosters, Black Lion logging axes and Black Lion Keys to open more chests for more town clothes!)
- Character advancement past level 80. You can craft charms from karka shells, ectos and 250 t6 fine crafting materials that you can carry in your inventory for a small stat boost.
- More epic one-time events so people can
- Mounts (and flying ones too). See Tyria from above for the first time! Mounts don't increase your character's power and aren't useable in WvW or sPvP so it's okay to sell these in the gem store.
- Player housing in your home instance. Embark on a thrilling journey to build your own home! Gather ancient wood planks, orichalcum ore, and other structural materials, like globs of ectoplasm to glue it all together. Keeping to our philosophy of catering to players from all walks of life, we are also adding an option to take out a mortgage from Black Lion Trading Company, which will automatically take gold from your bank for the next 25 years.

I think the time to make GW2 into a PvP game has passed, so A.Net should simply focus on PvE and give us shitloads of options - regardless of how poorly balanced they are.
