You'd be surprised how many do. It's still one of the most played MMORPGs. A truly great game that achieved something GW2 can only hope to achieve in its very limited lifespan.

Except that it will accomplish exactly what I said it will. Look at other games like Aion and WoW. They all have gear progression in PVP and are played by a lot more people than GW2 will ever hope to have. Now, just because I don't play a game anymore doesn't automatically put a restriction spell on my PC so that I can no longer start the client, login and check things out. I've asked countless people and they all agreed. A gear treadmill in both PVP and PVE is exactly what this game needs.

That's not a statistical sampling by any stretch of the imagination.

It still holds true. ArenaNet listened to the majority and now only a very tiny minority complains. But alas, I am afraid we are drifting too far away from the topic at hand.

Which is what? I like Aion and everything, but I ask out of genuine curiosity because I don't know what you mean. You just mean it's general success or did it break some record at some point?

the only record i know that it held was the highest amount of pre orders.  this may have been surpassed by swtor or even gw2.

aion was a great game for what it was.  what killed aion for me was the
  • crysystem.dll mem leak crash
  • the bots - they were literally killing everything in the area and i couldnt complete kill quests
  • the stigmas - 2 million kinah for the MUST have templar stigma that pulls enemies to the player?! what?!
  • the pvp ganking in the abyss
  • if you wanted better xp, you had to go to the abyss, but if the gank squads were too much for you you were forced to grind in the pve areas
  • collection quests were a chore

and honestly, despite all of those, Aion was very fun and i get some nostalgia looking back at screenshots of the game.

but personally i'd like to see
  • more continents released in GW2,
  • Tengu or Largos as a playable race,
  • bank slots purchasable with in game currency
  • player to player dueling!
  • that mini's arena in Lion's Arch utilized (yep)
  • i know this may start up a shit storm but, MOUNTS!
  • elimination of WP travel costs
  • more armor skins in gem store
  • more dance emotes in gemstore starting with the other race dances
  • more weapon skins in gem store
man, the list really keeps going!

I agree with all your suggestions, that being said mounts would have to have some restrictions.

For instance mounts should not be much if any faster then normal travel in WvW & you should be automatically dismounted if attacked in WvW.

well generally, mounts arent usually allowed in a pvp setting anyway, so i would say just leave them out of WvW.

The main things I want in the future for this game are:
-GvG pvp
-New WvW maps that arent the same every week.
-Playable Tengu and/or Largos race
-More weapon skill choices. Maybe like double the amount of skills for each weapon but still only allowed to pick 5.
-Mounts :D
-More useful elite skills with a reasonable cooldown.
-I would say bug fixes, but I havent run into any (strange I know since everyone makes them out to be everywhere)
-Lower costs on waypoint costs and no waypoint fees if travelling in the same zone, like in cities.
-Lastly, no repair costs in WvW

Not because I don't like it but because the majority of people playing doesn't like it. Gear progression in PVP is very much necessary. It helps seperating good from bad players as good players will always have superior stats on their gear. More particle effects are needed because so far every armor piece and weapon looks absolutely dull, unimaginative and way too realistic. This is supposed to be a fantasy game not some medieval warfare simulator. GW1 might've done well without gear progression but it also failed to generate a good amount of money. They sold about 5 million copies in it's existence? That's absolutely laughable. If you're producing a game then it has to be for the masses not some tiny, niche crowd. Gear progression, treadmills and gating systems are essential parts of any MMORPG. If such game lacks any of these three components then it is absolutely unfinished. As you can see ArenaNet too realized this by now. Again, it's not only me who wants these things changed, it's the vast majority of potential players in fact. There is a very high chance that ArenaNet will listen to players like me again just like they did in the past. I just hope this time I implement a true gear treadmill instead of this Failure of the Month dungeon.

This is definately a troll. You had me for a second though

You can technically create a guild and buy the guild bank-storage ^^
Guild influence can be bought with gold.

So better gear makes you a better player. I think not the way its now you have to play on skill not on i have op gear. So people that win now all the time are the better players. And to be honest 5 million copies + gemstore sales makes alot off money and is not bad at all. But i bet you are a troll anyway.

From a bigger patch:
- ascended items for karma and other ways to get them rather easily
- more armour skins in the gem shop
- more dances with music in the gem shop
- make the karma merchants at the temples/cathedrals in Orr accessible in some other ways than now, in the longer run it will be more and more impossible/frustrating for new players and alts to get the items (and stay away from such methods which require a lot of willing players in a region forever)

From an expansion:
- an overhaul of the WvW (better point system to prevent early no-chance-to-win situations, make defense more important, allow some control of territory with strongholds, buildable field fortifications f.e.)
- more WvW maps
- new PvE territory
- more skills for existing weapons
- make the open world more important compared to dungeons

I play daily and have a few requests of the devs...none of them involve new content.  Please fix the game and bring it in line with the advertised gameplay.  A few wishes:

1. Guild Housing...or somewhere that we as a Guild can meet as a Guild....Like our old Guild Halls in GW1?
2. Server guesting...this is killing me. I have many friends I would love to play with on various servers....this was promised...where is it?
3. DE's that work.  I enjoy this part of the game when it works...however there are entirely to many problems with DE's breaking for whatever reason.
4.  Whatever happened to the idea of recieving 1 (a single, less than 2) token at the end of a Dungeon and recieving your armor piece of choice?

Raiding is never going to happen without a subscription.  I don't know anyone who is going to tolerate the management of running a raid and any sort of 'optional' pay model at the same time.  The cost would have to somehow be shared across all players participating.  Then you have issues with people not wishing to invest unless the people they are grouping with are a 'sure thing.'  It'll rend the game asunder.  You would only get the 'hardcores' who might be willing to pay and everyone else dissatisfied with the end result.

So an anecdote about observations of a guild's voice chat and roster(s) over the past three months is less valid than whatever trope you put out?

It's a way to show your absolute superiority and prowess in combat if you will.
Except winning shows your absolute superiority and prowess; VP gear treadmill just shows time investment.

And the bit about trolls, when you just 'snip' entire quotes rather than debate any actual points, is hilarious.

-Cantha
-GVG (Guild Halls) Like the original concept.
-HA (Like the original please, nothing new and fancy)
-Alliance battles (not sure how they would implement them with no Kurzicks and Luxons)
-Droks city (and other cities that are back because they have been rebuilt)
-Going more north in the Shiverpeaks.
-Elite areas (you can call them raids, or something like The Deep or Urgoz)
-Legendary weapons visual update (make the less appealing legendaries up to par with the ones that have everything)
-Bring back Rits
-Obviously more areas.
-Overall just more small things that will be appreciated

Look did the devs ever in any interview even hint at a Guild vs guild area?  No so why push for something that would take tons of dev time when they never said they were even thinking about it.

Why do people always beg for devs to make stuff in the game that was never talked about.

I want to see complete re-thinking of WvW.
-understand that WvW is about WARFARE and server vs server...this means
--huge maps(not the current postage stamp maps.......natural choke points.......no 24/7 point system........dramatic reduction/elimination of
que's etc
-accept that WvW is not about getting points but rather signifigant realm benefits
-unlock some rewards like mineral nodes ANLY accesable to the realm that holds it..so ther will be an incentive to hold key locations and the rewards that come from holding THAT location
-implement game design that encourages taking and holding key territory and punishes loosing these key points then retaking them

I want to see Tyria comes to life and the citizen of Tyria actually "living in it"
little things like, if there are wurms/spiders problem in x location, they would move their farm to y location, and will have new things for players to do, instead of always the same repeated "events" of culling wurms , getting rid of mosquitoes...

I Want to see the lionguards/npc really do thier parts to fight the tamini etc, if they aren't putting in effort for their own town, if just feels wrong, if the npc isn't afraid, they should be fighting or at least run away. don't stand still doing nothing.

ME and another players was fighting a champion dredge mining suit the other day outside a camp and this lionguard came running to me asking for help for some other problem she has, then she stands there like an idiot waving for attention while me and that other player were trying really hard to help save that camp, dodging and what not, AND SHE STOOD THERE LIKE AN IDIOT WAVING!  now why would i want to help her?
