Can anyone tell me what the best skills are for the 10 profession skill slots. battle standard would be a no brainer for elite skills but despite beating the game already on story mode I still dont know the difference between downed and defeated(most of you probably know but this is a core mechanic to the ability). can someone elaborate please.
Thanks in advance

Downed = You can still get up, fight back and get ressed faster.
Dead = Dead. Takes forever to ress you.

Oh right. About double the speed out of combat, I think?
I rarely die due to the Vengeance 100% Rally Trait. I'm any NPCs worst nightmare. They always scream "WHY WON'T HE DIE?!"

This isn't World of Buildcraft or Build Wars.
Play what YOU enjoy.
And don't give me this crap that you enjoy being a cookie cutter.

How do you be a cookie cutter when youre asking for opinions on aspects of a build.
This is probably going to be a suprise but I care far more for utility and survival than I do for damage output. The only reason I chose the warrior is because I could have both. In retrospect what are you guys'( I know this isn't grammatically correct, I just do not care) favorite profession based elite skill for any class.

If you cannot figure out how to build just go with a full signets greatsword build, requires 0 skill to play and is still decent damage

If you don't want to play that way (personally I hate it, so generic and boring, but viable) using a sword or axe+ shield is pretty good for pve. Axe/Axe is another crit build that's pretty decent. It's common, but basically the same thing as the greatsword crit build. I personally have a storage box in my inventory that's filled with every weapons that warriors can use, so I just swap them out as needed. Hammers are also amazing for pve, theres so much cc you can bring, and the Burst skill is simply beautiful. I don't advise going sword/axe, though, for 1 reason: they don't synergize that well together. Not saying it's bad, but the sword is more bleed oriented, while the axe is for high burst damage through multi hits. If you wanted that, then the sword's flurry burst is nice, but depending on your spec, it's sometimes better to keep the adrenal bar full. I don't play with maces to much, they're full of cc, but I just don't like the damage output on them, altho the skill are pretty fun.
As for elites, I don't like the banner unless I'm running a full banner support build, which I rarely do, and only in WvW. I'd suggest taking Signet of Rage, or a racial elite. I'm a Norn warrior so if I don't take the sig, I'd take Bear form, just because it's a freakin bear. Utilitiy skills are pretty much whatever you think caters to what you're dealing with when fighting. I love the shouts, and my build is oriented around being a supportive Warrior with shouts and a warhorn, a commander if u will.
I'm not expert on warriors, I'm an 80 guardian that has a 23 Warrior, but these are just my opinions.
