They think NCSoft is making the game....lol. Atleast in one part they mention ArenaNet.

I love reading the comments. Makes me happy that a lot of people are getting excited about Guild Wars 2. ArenaNet deserves all the support :)

Good Article. I think the hype machine is gonna run full throttle all the way to game release.

Yeah many people only see the NCSoft and not the Arenanet logo :(

I have a friend who is certain this game will fail because all the last NCsoft games have "failed".

I think NCSoft's bad reputation with their few last titles, and the fact that it is a Korean MMO publisher, is tainting Arenanet in some way.

On the other hand, once GW2 is hugely successful, NCsoft's name gets an undeserved polishing.

even the people posting comments seem to not know as much as they should...they could have seen just about anything else and gotten the answer to the questions they were asking...some people live in a hole...I guess :D

actually if people keep asking the same question about no subs, new people are bound to hear it each time, which is awesome.

It's kinda sad how they say

for instance defeating the dragon in the above example doesn't mean he's gone forever. He'll come back and start the same event over again later even if driven away, so the world is still to some extent stuck in a time loop.

Because the way it works (at least the way i understood from everything anet has explained), if no one do the event to make him come out, he will never come out. So this is not really a time loop.

but the way it is worded make it seem that after a set timer, he will comeout again.

Not a bad article, a nice addition to the collection that came out of Gamescom.

Heh, the title was also somewhat incorrect too.   ArenaNet has been explaining their PvE content mechanics for months, the article writer just obviously did not know that lol.  A more accurate title would have 'finally demonstrated' (and boy was it demonstrated! ;) )

That article reminds me of the clueless WoWers bashing GW for the sake of their fantasy war. Clueless as in, they don't even know the very basics like Areanet's the developer and not NCSoft.

Other than that, good article summing up everything in few paragraphs.

And the author missed the point with saving the crops.  If the crops burn, and the farmer has no harvest, then the price of bread (a consumable) will rise.
Thanks Haishao for the link.  Another impressed non-GW player drawn into the fold.

I do agree, but even if u consider it being in a time loop, i dont see how people can critisise gw2. They cant make unlimited content can they?!

The difference here is that if a boss drops a rare item, everyone gets to roll on it -- and everyone who rolls well gets the loot.

I don't recall hearing CJohanson or anyone else referring to this.  I do, however, remember Colin specifically saying that bosses DONT drop unique loot, and instead generate currency (gold, karma) that anyone can use on whatever they wish at a vendor.

No, I'm pretty sure they drop loot too, it's just that everybody gets loot, and there's no 'rolling' involved.

If you do that, I'll ship you the cat in question. He weighs about 15lbs (7kgs), sheds white fur year round, has a vocal range that goes from squeak to "is someone skinning a cat alive?" and favours exploring the latter range at 3am.

;)

Naw, I love him too much. Maybe I'll just ship you the fur...

But yea the writer is clearly missing some information here and there.
