I don't know if they're on a rotation yet. Got my old maps saved and checking every time, so just gotta play the waiting game. But I'll make new maps everytime they reset so.

I just logged in 5 minutes ago to see if your orichalcum was right.

I have a different location it seems. Instead of orichalcum in the ocean in Malchor's Leap where you put it, I had 2 nodes right next to each other right here on the map instead. One of the nodes was in the middle of the water and not on the sea floor.

The one you marked in the middle of the map was not there as well.

So wait, there are only 9 orich nodes on the map? That's just crazy!

Also it explains the prices, and why i'm not making any progress whatsoever in getting mats for my exotics set myself.

Great job making another totaly broken system a.net.  >.>

I think it's still pretty good. You're guaranteed 27 Orichalcum Ore from the nodes, better that than a <1% drop from one of the world bosses or something equally ludicrous.

There are loads of way to get Ori. You get it from salvaging too and prices have been dropping pretty steadily for a while.

Stop overreacting, jeez.

The one in the middle of the map is under the platform. And btw, are you on seafarer's rest, or another server?

Valuable Metal Scrap or whatever it's called - I get plenty of Ori every day just from doing DE's with lots of Risen.

Wasn't this thread confined to crafting?  ...effort appreciated of course but this is confusing.

PS:  it also spawns in the Jormag zone.  Might wanna document that one too.

Great job leaping to a faulty conclusion based on limited info!!

Seriously though.   There are DOZENS of nodes.  The thing is, they are not all "active" for you at any given time.   Go to Queensdale, there are hundreds of nodes, but only some are active at once.  This creates a way to "randomize" where nodes are at without actually having randomly placed nodes.   If there are, lets say, 200 copper nodes in Queensdale, but only a random 40 are active at any given time, that would give you over 2,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 combinations of nodes being active... effectively making the placement "random" and eliminating the simple botting we see in other games as toons run from node location to node location.

I'm not sure when they rotate which nodes become active or not, but I've noticed that certain spots where I know a node is located, that some days it will be there, and others it will not.  You can still see the "depleted" node when it's not there, especially with the ores.   The trees show as stumps.

So if you mapped a zone's nodes of Orichalcum on one day, then mapped it another day... you'll likely see different locations.  As other posters mentioned.   So it's not going to be as easy as running to 10 locations to farm the ore, there may be 50 locations but only 10 up at any given time.

If you kill the 5000 undead between each ore spot you can use a high grade salvage kit to break down metal with a chance to score a few extra pieces of orichalcum

There's usually only one on that map, and it's always on the top right section of the map so it should be around the same general area every day. Hence why I don't think it's worth noting down that spot every day since it would only move a tiny bit each day.

There is more than one.  I've found at least 4 just by completing that map.  There were two near the Jormag fight area, one near two of the portals on the east side (forgot which ones).   I didn't think to mark it down at the time but I'll note them when I go there again.

I have tracked these since the second day the servers we up.

They have changed it as time has gone on, presumably to fight the bots. There used to be 3 nodes in Shiverpeaks. I have found anywhere from 1 to 3. So I dont go there anymore.

Malchor's Leap had had 3 since the opening of the game, it started having 4 On Sunday. Cursed Shore always had 5 (so 8 total on the two maps), now it too has only 4, so in essence same amount of nodes on both maps.

Also as far as spawn points, they DO NOT change if there isnt an update, that is why the price has plummeted recently because the bots got it down and with no patches/updates for 2 nights they just circled the map on the respawn.

I have found in the 3 weeks of tracking 12 unique nodes for malchor's leap and 18 (not counting the southern ones which are always in the path of the event). But there is also a general area for the spawns despite them being somewhat random. Malchors leap is the area between Paggos and Vally of Lyss WPs. North on the elemental plain, thats what I call it. But NW of waste hollow WP.  NW of Tempest WP, basically in the ocean and by the arches. Then a random one in a diagonal line stretching from Dorics to the skill point in the broodmother's marshes. Basically draw a line between the two, walk it and you will find one.

Cursed shore changed up some, there were two unique spawns this morning. But generally there are two in the south, although that changed and they spread those out this past weekend, so one still way south and one somewhere along the shore south of anchorage. Then there are a couple spawn points out on Grenths Island. Sometimes one down by Jofast...SE of it. Generally one in the ocean between Gavebeorns WP and grenths Island, sometimes one up by the arches above R&D. Final area is in the corral east of Caer Shadowfane, but everyone goes there anyway because there are usually no les than a half dozen mithral nodes there.

I have run the map 2 or 3 times a day looking for other random spawns, but it holds the pattern if you find 5 that's it. Even if you dont harvest any for a day (thinking they might be on along timer) there are still only 5. Well four now it seems. But the rule of thumb is you will get 24 ore if you do the maps. If you want to go to Shiverpeaks you could get another three to nine.

Hey Fattig, great work on these maps, i've been exploring ori a lot myself and I have a possible 3 node locations that don't seem to be on your Malchor's leap map. First of all, recently i've found  an ori node spawning to the west of the Plaza of Lights POI. In addition to this I can see another ori vein in the south east corner, almost exactly south of Pagga's Waypoint, but I have no idea how to get there. I even did the Scavenger's Chasm jumping puzzle nearby and did not find it. Finally, i've found ori on the little Island to the far north with a Vista on it (North of Union waypoint).

Also, i have reason to suspect they are on rotation. I know for a fact i've mined several nodes multiple times per day, but certain nodes have not respawned, leading me to believe they are elsewhere.

The nodes shift every time there's a patch or server bounce, so there is no static map.  I would imagine that someone will eventually come up with a way to post maps for this as things shift.

Each time they move you have to find them again (people start looking and reporting in /map after the bounce) and come up with a new route for efficient harvesting.

The tier 6 nodes are on a ~6 hour respawn timer as well, so figure that into your gathering plans.

Don't forget to gather all the tier 5 ore and wood you can stand to grab as well, since you can transmute it up to tier 6 via mystic forge if you have nothing better to do with it.
