That's exactly what I was saying man.
I want more realistic stuff, knighty plate armors, assassin outfits, realistic weapons, etc.
I don't mind fantasized version as long as there are realistic ones as well.

In GW1 a Warrior could wear some great armors like Primeval, 15k Plate, Knight's... and use realistic battle axes such as Victo's.
Assassins had all kind of shady outfits, Eles had some good non-gay wizard robes too.

I had an hard time trying to make my thief look like a Thief, and I'm still struggling to have my Warrior and Guardian look like a realistic knight.
I really like spiked maces and there is none. I like realistic longsword, there is none.

Maybe with time we'll get all this, I just don't get why in GW1 you looked like this:

And in GW2 you look like this:

That is one of my gripes with dyes and plate armor. Bright and saturated colors don't always look great on everything, and the huge spikes certainly don't help. Otherwise you look like you're wearing a cosplayer outfit rather than actual armor.

Aion's art direction was great, though there were still a few silly weapon skins. On a side note, I think Lineage II did pretty well though for B to A grade gear.

The only medium armour I like for thief is the Duelist set, it's tight leather and revealing all the right places, but every thief and their mother has it. The Tier 3 set just looks too manga-esque for me.

I like the 'feasible' vibe GW2 has with some of the leather armour, like if you were a hunter/rogue/swindler/someotherroleplaything you'd be in a shirt and leather coat for sure, but they do look somewhat boring.

100% agreed with.

I always said that I don't mind any kind of silly, unrealistic stuff in my MMO as long as there was also an option for realistic gear. You know, armour that doesn't make you get stuck in a bush because of all the pointy things, armour that doesn't leave 60% of your body unprotected.

And I'm sorry to say, even WoW had far more realistic looking gear than GW2. Lvl20-30ish rogue stuff or lvl50 platemail was very, very nice and casters didn't have to walk around with a mandatory huge anime-style front split.
It's very sad GW2 doesn't have this.

PS Try the starter greatsword, it's quite realistic, not really pretty though. My warrior uses the Vanguard greatsword.

Oh please. The shoulder pads of WoW armours probably weigh more than an ENTIRE Blood Legion heavy armour set. If the dinky stick figure humans in GW2 wore them, they'd be crawling on the ground because they wouldnt have the strength to stand up straight.

Now I know what you all think: We love to watch humans crawl around on the ground. But for Dwaynas sake dont humiliate them by wearing WoW armour.

LOL :)

Yes, the shoulderpads aren't something I really welcomed in GW2. But as examples of lower level WoW gear:

You see that it's not the lower level gear that looks completely silly. Also the sword and shield look quite realistic (I think it's all PvP reward gear). I'd actually like to have that kind of lvl50 set on my GW2 heavy armour users. Especially the non-bulky boots (heaven forbid!)!!!
And I have the feeling GW2 has way too much "epic" and not enough "realistic" stuff.

Lvl20 rogue set:

Yes, definitely graphically outdated (all these are screenshots from the "Vanilla WoW" period) - but it actually looks like a practical, realistic thing to wear if you have to be able to move swiftly in the shadows without getting stuck behind every branch. Or getting Lyme's disease when you sneak through the grass.
