So I'm using a build that has consistent bleeding. What I'm wondering is, is it better to trait for duration, or damage on bleeds? I also use caltrops often. Would that make it better to go for duration on the cripple and the bleeds? Although the cripple already lasts almost the whole cooldown of the skill anyway.

For damage conditions, +dmg is always better than +duration. Dealing 20% more damage will end the fight faster, which is what you want, compared to dealing damage for an extra 20% of the duration. I assume you're comparing trait lines that buff either condi damage or condi duration, and since their percentages are proportional damage is the way to go. When you start talking about non-damage conditions like stun and immobilize, then duration can be better depending on the circumstances.

I saw 3 sets of runes with 2nd bonus = +15% bleed duration. I don't know if you can combine them and get 45% ><
Imho the bleed duration is really good even better than condition damage when you already have a lot of condition damage (for boss, champions fight).
The only downside is when you're not the only one stacking bleed ... With the 25 cap bleed duration become useless. But if you're the only one stacking bleed to like 10-15 stacks all day long then i'm pretty sure it is superior to condition damage (considering you have already some).
