I am looking to buy a new longbow/short bow now I am lvl 80, but I haven't seen a lot of skins. What are nice (cheap) skins for bows? (with pics if possible). Preferably Exotic or Rare, because I can't preview them in Trading Post (beserker stat).

I LOVE the pirate cultural (shortbow). Its simple, yet very cool and easy to get at 9.8k karma. Its the same size as a longbow too.

ive been transmuting the steam bow i got from charrland early in the game every so often. i quite like it. its not very ranger-y but its distinctive and has a nice shape and look.

when i dont use that i use ithas.

I've been using this skin for a while now, for both my short and longbow:

My preference for weapon skins has always been skins that look very detailed, but not too fancy. It needs to still look like a bow IMO.
This one is one of my favorite models/skins I've seen so far, unlike for example: http://www.gw2db.com...4276-arcing-bow which I don't find looking nice at all, it loses the sexy looks of a plain bow.

There are some other great models out there that I might swap to though.

Dont have a pic because the servers are down but go check out the skin from the karma vendors in Vigil hq (field of ruins). Tier 1 thru 3 are the same but its the best looking I've seen yet. Personal taste ofc

I'm guessing Arcing Bow is the bow bought with tokens from Crucible of Eternity explorable mode (at least is has the same skin as that one). It has the same skin (but different colour) as the Mystic Crecent (80 exotic mystic forge weapon, made with mystic coins, a scroll bought for 50 skill points, 5 ancient shortbow handles and 5 hardened strings)

This is the short bow I use as well.

Does anyone know if they make a long bow with the lighting effect on it?

Shortbow is the 1 from CoE

Not cheap but awesome looking are either of the corrupted bows.  Shortbow and Greatbow share the same skin.

Same recipe for the longbow, just use Shaman's Etched Greatbow of Rage.

Unfortunately, the only bows that have a glow effect are the Ghastly bows (AC weapons) and the Corrupted bows (both ends of the bow), and Aether/Azureflame [screenshot], but this one costs more than 200g to craft, I believe. Yeah, price is almost stupid for something that isn't even a Legendary.

It's a shame we don't have too many bows with particle effects. ArenaNet's designers must be Greatsword fanbois.

currently using legionnaire shortbow and some other longbow until I decide which dungeon I want to farm for the longbow.

I miss my storm bow from GW1.

I use the shortbow from Ebonhawke, simply because its pretty elegant, and it doesnt look like something you pick your teeth with like most other shortbows.

9800 Karma for the skin of the T1 (T1-T3 are the same for Vanguard) Ebon Vanguard Shortbow.

The Shortbow and Longbow skin of the Ebon Vanguard are identical, so you get a shortbow that doesn't look as tiny and odd as most shortbow skins.

In Fireheart Rise there are vendors that sell grawl related item recipes. (for level 65 rare "Godskull" weapons)
I use the Longbow from that series

Several other of the godskull skins look pretty good. Very easy to get a hold of as long as you have a crafter at level 225 (i think)

also fairly cheap... 10-15 silver iirc)
