What's up with the Priory weapons?
I looked at the GS in the preview window and it seemed quite cool, and so I proceeded to purchase it. But then to my surprise I discovered it does not look like the preview window, IT IS ENCASED IN CRYSTAL.
What is up with that? Isn't the idea of the preview window to SEE what the weapon looks like before you purchase it? This weapon cost 6g, that's not throwable money, especially not in the beginning of the game. I'm highly disappointed and honestly just wanted to warn you guys- Priory weapons DO NOT look like they seem in the preview window.

-I do realize  this doesn't fit in Q&A, but I've not found any other forum that would fit, admin please move if needed-

Yeah I have the same bug, not sure how to fix it.

Certain effects don't show up in preview, which is something they need to fix.

For example, if you have the Firey Dragon Sword, you won't see the flames in preview.

It seems this is the case for the crystal in the sword.

I don't know what about you, but damn, as for me in reality it looks way better than in preview.

The other thing is that you didn't get what you wanted in the first place. And yeah, there's a problem with previewing a lot of weapons.

And btw. I don't know why, but your characters' legs/anckles are unnaturaly small comparing to the rest of the body

I assume because its an "effect"

Things like flames and glows don't show up on weapon previews, I assume this fits in the same boat.

Agreed. I may actually buy this now. Wasn't super impressed by the preview.

Sylvari weapons have the same problem. Like the greatsword has a blue blade and is wrapped in vines but in the preview window it just looks like a bunch of vines and there is no blade.

Yeah, it's something they do need to fix. Keep this in mind about dungeon weapons! Do a little research before writing them off as bland!

I hate when I buy a lame sword, and I put it on and its at least 20% cooler.

Yeah I feel your pain however some weapon's speacial effects don't show in the preview window. I'm not sure why they never fixed that. Limitation of the software or what however I think with a game like this I'm sure they can add the full effects of a weapon in the preview window.
It is not just Priory weapons, it is also other ones like Twilight, Sunrise. Also the karma greatsword wyld greatsword http://static.guildh.../images/787.jpg does not show the blue part in the preview window.
However I think the priory greatsword is a good looking sword and it will grow on you after a while.

As other said, it's a known problem of effects displaying in preview. Sadly, you can't really know before which skins have this issue and which not, but i recommend to always double check on guru/wiki for skins.

Btw, i think that the sword in crystal is way cooler than the previewed one - granted, not having what you've paid for cuz brokne preview sucks anyway, but it's matter of tastes.

as stated etc, but I really like the non-preview one.  might end up going priory on my warrior if I decide to go GS just for that skin as I haven't found a high-level skin that I really like more than the simple classic greatsword look.

I realize that, it's because my armor is bulky and I haven't had enough tokens to purchase a bulkier pair of boots so until further notice, my legs are going to be quite.. boney.

Priory Historic Greatsword, or something along those lines.
You can get it in the Durmand Priory HQ, in Lornar's Pass.

It's a matter of taste, and it's not about how it's cooler or uncooler, it's about the fact that I purchased something thinking it would look one way, while it looks another. Point being- watch out for it guys!

I absolutely fell in love with the priory GS... is there any way to obtain it (or the skin otherwise) on a char with Order of Whispers allegiance (can I change allegiance?)? would transmuting work on the pvp version of the GS? help plz
