As it stands, when you clear a dungeon in explorable mode (all paths), there is no tangible reward. I think a kewl way of rewarding doing all of the paths of an explorable mode dungeon is to make it a monthly achievement.

Here is how it would work:
The achievement would be for each of the dungeons on a monthly basis.
If you complete all the paths of a particular explorable mode dungeon, you are rewarded with a random piece of exotic armor or weapon from the dungeon set + any other misc rewards as seen fit including xp, karma, mystic coins, etc.

The monthly nature of this achievement would prevent speed run farming AND it would give everyone an incentive to play all the paths of all the dungeons at least once a month.
Thoughts?

I'd like this.... especially if it took the place of the WvW killing part of monthly achievements or gave people another option to complete the monthly achievement without having to WvW....

step in the right direction I think but anything like dailies/monthly you get a bunch of people who rush them ASAP and finish and then they don't run dungeons anymore. this leaves those who casual finish the monthly to either have to wait longer to find a group or the skill level of the group drops off. I know people hate using WoW as an example but if you ever did the Looking for Raid or LFR the groups were much better Tuesday/Wednesday compared to Sunday/Monday.

I think they need to add a very rare drop of a unique skins to the final chest of the dungeon. Look back in GW1 where you had to run a specific dungeon for a weapon skin. I didn't really care for Bogroot Growth but when I finally got my Frog Scepter I was overjoyed.

I don't care very much for the rare drop system... ran Rragnar's menagerie so many times for that dang dryad bow but it never dropped!!!! T_T But the point with people rushing them is true.

Maybe if they added a weekly dungeon achievement and then when through a rotation?

Personally, I'd like a monthly incentive to do different dungeons, and different paths to the usual ones.

However I think that giving a piece of the set for running, in essence 3 dungeons within a monthly period of time, would be too easy. I think they should give a bunch of mystic coins and some tokens... maybe 60, on top of what you get for running the place ofc, and would be more in line with their rewards throughout other areas.

However I do want to raise one concern I'd have with this type of system. Whenever you implement a weekly or monthly task, that's specific such as this, you culture the mind set in players that they must do x, y and z within that period of time or be missing out. This is the case in other mmo's where you have to do your raid each week or miss the lock out.. or your daily quests or miss out on reputation etc. While that mind set is obviously already there and it might help to alleviate some people's perceptions of lack of content; I'd rather not resort to falling back on the old ways of thinking. I want, personally, and as a game, to do the dungeons because it's fun.. not because there's even the slightest hint of nagging at the back of my mind that I'd miss out on 60 tokens if I didn't do it.

The rest of the game is awesome like that, not having lock outs or daily stuff to do. The achievements currently are real basic stuff on the daily achi's and yeah the monthly rewards aren't make or break tbh, whereas dungeon armour/tokens etc would be a bigger carrot.

Anyway, overall I think it could have merit, but they'd have to be careful to balance the rewards carefully.

What about if they had it set up to "Earn X amount of dungeon tokens in a month"? I agree with the whole nagging to do things but if they did it this way it wouldn't matter what dungeons they did just that they did them? Again, I'd love to have it merged somehow if it would be added to the monthly achievement, especially for those like me that aren't interested in WvW but love the PvE content/dungeons.

I like the suggestion, but I would keep separate from the montlhy achievement. Or make it "complete each path of ONE dungeon". Otherwise people have to finish 24 path in a month. For people like me it means I have to pass all my game time in dungeon. Not a whine, but it would just be too much time consuming, compared with the other monthly activities!

So you do not like "forcing" people to do WvW but have no problem "forcing" people to do Dungeons?

Like the idea, will keep an eye on the official forum-post.

No, I'm saying I'd like it if it could be used interchangeably with the WvW requirements for the monthly achievements as, just as some people don't want to PvE or do dungeons, some people don't want to WvW and to make monthly achievements exclusive to that is a silly idea. How about read my entire post before you comment.
