i dont understand why ppl think stealth is SO op? im not saying that it isnt a very powerful utility, im just trying to understand why ppl think its the most op-est op utility NOT just for a thief class, but in the whole game...
Our class is called a thief..so i think its pretty clear which of our skills should b the most useful and powerful set available to us.
Is trying to fight an invisible guy annoying? * yes, but does a thief steal ur tv while ur watching it? * no, he steals it without u knowing.
So does stealthing make everything that imbalanced? I dont think so..
Every class has some sort of aoe/cc yes? (plz correct me if im wrong) and if not at least u can swing ur sword around and not stand still like a chump. So if a thief goes in stealth do u just randomly place ur aoe 100ft from u? * no u simply place it on top of urself or cc and watch the thief un-cloak 5ft away from u looking all frustrated. There are so many ways to counter and even dps down a stealthed thief. A thief is not invincible when invisible, simply, invisible.
Yes, we can stay stealthed for a very long time if traited correctly, put 30 in shadows just to trait stealth, HiS, shadow refuge, blinding powder, shadow trap, smoke screen and HS thru and even 15 into trickery for preparedness and/or 20 into acro for quick recovery for more CnD...but what the hell are we sacrificing? muchmuch better traitlines, backstab hitting like bullcum cause of little to none of critical or deadly being traited, 30-60 CDs in all utilities, no condition removal, no stun break...u get the idea
Just an opinion of mine, but if u think about it, stealthing has already kind of been introduced to gw2 in a nerfed state. What i mean is it could have been brought to the game way more op than it did. And I think this revealed mechanic just does not suit a thief and what the meaning of a thief class is. Being forcibly unable to use the best skill under our belt is ridiculous. However, the 'idea' of the revealed mechanic is a great start and thus I agree with Minion. Maybe 2 secs of vulnerability like Minion mentioned? Or reduced speed for 'x' secs? Reduced out going dmg for 'x' secs?
every class has their own unique skill, this is ours, dont rip it apart to a point a thief is no longer a thief.
