Something that's been itching at me since these gamescom videos...:

Has ANYONE noticed thakerys abilities? They are very blue looking and almost look like spells. I'm just having a very hard time believing that thackery and those two NPCs with him are warriors. Am I the only one that feels this way?

Oh, there are a bunch of people that already speculated that he's in fact a BlueMaceLady (Yes, I really just did that!).

Plus, he has some kind of staff on his back in some gamescom video that I can't remember. He screams BML (Blue Mace Man?) to me.

I have a feeling that the BlueMaceLady profession is going to replace protection Monks. That, but with some Paragon abilities thrown in as well. Templar or Vanguard I think the name will be. :)

The protection Monks were iconic to GW as the main support but not healing. So I think that will be the case.

I noticed that as well, in one of the videos you can make a distinct Blue and White Shield with what looks like a cross or something and they go running in and makes a unique blue sphere around them.

Its looking pretty cool in that regard, perhaps they are indeed practitioners of the art of BlueMaceLady!

If this ends up being the next protection build, using spell like abilities to do similar effects that a any/shield warrior could do. And with how they are making all buffs into boons, I'm curious to see how they accomplish this!

Reading through the comments on that site, it has occurred to me just how attached some people have become to the MMO mechanics that Blizzard has dispersed far and wide.  I mean, it's almost comical how defensive some people get when they perceive a threat the world order they're accustomed to.  I expect it's similar to the reaction a heroin addict might have, were you to separate them from their fix

It's funny, but also a little sad.  And actually, a tad disturbing.

Very true. That's pretty much how people feel when you threaten any part of their routine or "safe zone".

Thanks for the link, I liked that they pointed out the difference between WAR's Public Quests and GW2's Dynamic Events.

I haven't noticed his abilities, unfortunately, but I know that he wears a staff(!) on his back. He battled an oakheart with a sword (Races trailer), and now he has a staff.

I'll eat my hat if he's not a member of the second soldier class.

Anyhow, with GW2 still without even a release date, I wouldn't worry too much about misinformed folks.  There's plenty of time to set the record straight.  It was nice to see people politely correcting the many, many incorrect assumptions awash in those comments.

It'll probably be either Knight or Guardian, which is a nice counterpoint to the offensive Warrior.
