I really like the instances in this game. However, I do have a problem with the different sets of tokens. It's hard finding groups for some of the lesser liked sets. If you like the HotW set, you're pretty much out of luck. If you have a regular group with different tastes, be prepared to run 5 x 40 dungeons. With all the variety in dungeons, it seems a shame to have to run the same 4 over and over again.

So I propose a Dungeon Token Exchange. Same like the Gold to Gems and v.v. eschange, except with a grid for different tokens. This way, easier / more exploitable / more in demand tokens will even out with an exchange rate for the harder / lesser used dungeons.

And people can just run whatever dungeon they want, but still gather the sets  they want to do.

Anet made the tokens account bound for a reason and it's to force you to do what you don't want to do because there are not people or whatever....

Doing what you propose would mean i could just do my favorite dungeon over and over and get the armors of all dungeons in the end. The ones from form less popular dungeons would just take me more runs of my favorite dungeon.

It that would be allowed it would be easier to remove the account bound thing from the tokens and allowing them to be placed on the market. In the end the result would be the same, people would do their favoritte farm over and over and they will get all the armors in the end..... the sets from not popular dungeons would cost more as not so many people would place them for sale.

And we go back to the beggining, anet made those tokens account bound for a reason. Be thankful that they changed them from soulbound to accountbound. These sets were not designed for you to be able to get them easily. It would be different if after some time some or most dungeons were dead places with nobody ever doing them, but we are far from that situation.

I don't think he means trade with other players.  I think he means setting up an exchange rate to convert from say Catocombs tokens to Sorrow's token.  So for example 60AC tokens = 30 SE tokens.  You could factor in difficulty and popularity of the dungeon in the equation to offset exploiting an easy dungeon.  Not sure I am for it but think that is what the OP was looking at.  Could be wrong, I don't think you should be able to buy them or trade them though.

I actually had a suggestion just like this about a month ago, but honestly I don't see much of a need atm.  60 tokens a run (I don't really have patience for more than 3 runs of the same dungeon a day) is kinda more than enough for me.  The grind has been significantly reduced.  And just think, if this suggestion were used, I suspect that people would abandon those dungeons altogether over time.  Kinda like how heroes theoretically made partying with other players easier initially.. and then.. *grimace*

Getting groups for dungeons isn't too bad at all.  If you need a guild just pm me in game, I don't think we've ever had anyone just not get a group for a dungeon :D
Fun while it lasted.  I guess.

I'm pretty sure there's a bunch of people running each dungeon, as the dungeons are cross-server. You might need to join a dungeon guild to find the people though.

Or just add a cross server lfg tool. Problem solved.

Have to say I think Anet will not do any of this, and nor should they because it goes against what dungeon sets/legendary skins/exotic skins are all about in this game. Anet have made it crystal clear if you want these prestige items, then you have to work for them, you have to sink hours into dungeon runs. It's not compulsory because the gear is only for the skin really, the stats are mediocre so its not like you have to grind to get the best gear but if you want the fancy stuff then you have to work for it.

A "token exchange" would completely nullify the prestige value of these sets. I see someone with dungeon gear I immediately know that they as a player (if not as that particular character necessarily because they are account bound not soulbound) must know these dungeons pretty well, must've done a fair few runs and therefore I can make a quick judgement about their experience in pve. Just as if I see fancy gear in pvp I know that they must've spent a fair bit of time doing pvp/tourneys! If you could just "buy" tokens then anyone with gold could get the gear, and of course gold <- gems <- potentially from RL money. So basically it would become "for £20 i can get this armor set" or whatever).

If you are having trouble finding groups join a guild that specifically does dungeon runs, or join several guilds!! I DO agree that a lfg tool/cross server chat channel might be helpful...but I don't like the idea of it becoming a LF CC war, LF <insert meta build> necro, LF <insert meta build> guardian etc etc...which it would, and I don't like the idea of people feeling they have to pick a certain class to get a spot on dungeon teams as that is majorly against the gw2 ethos...

I had a similar thought about a token exchange but I came to a similar conclusion as other posters - it would dilute the intended value of the tokens.  I had another idea, though.  I'm not sure what would be the correct implementation but the gist of it is that the tokens are "party bound" while the instance is up and become account bound when you leave.  That would mean that if five members of my guild each want armour from a different dungeon, it would be possible for us to run the dungeons as a team but allocate the tokens to a different player for each dungeon.

Of course, with an eye for longevity and equipping my alts, I can see plenty of instances where saving those tokens for the future would be wise.  There will probably be cases where I don't really care what a particular item looks like and having a small hoard of tokens would mean that I could buy a character's exotic weapons without additional fuss.
