like literally, FULL.. probably 10-11-12 servers were labelled FULL

today I notice.. let's just say, activity has.. lessened.. so i got curious, i went to world select screen

Sunday, 7 PM EST, primetime play... and what did i see?

then you start noticing every thread has a "no queue in primetime" or "where did people go" etc etc..

i'm sitting here shocked, wondering.. what happened? it's one thing for 1 or 2 or 3 servers to go from High to Full..

but to literally go from that many FULL servers to 1 being "Full" ??

.......did arenanet ban a buncha accounts or something?! ...what's going on

Titan Alliance disbanded, JQQ is on a rise to the top, and free transfers are still available. People are moving all over to "winning" servers. Not to mention te people that are leaving after the first month, but that's every MMO

And post Panda.

/salute

P.S. A game without a subscription can't technically fail.  They already made their planned base money off of the box.

but where did the people go Durzo?? it's not like they can "cancel a subscription", i'm assuming once an account is on a server, regardless if they play or not that counts as a slot taken..

HoD, ET, SBI, JQ, IoJ, Blackgate, Dragonbrand, Crystal Desert, and prolly 3-4 more servers I SWEAR were labelled FULL

don't tell me the players are so good at "load balancing" to go from that many Full servers to what I just saw now..

something is.. i don't get this, i just don't get this.. unless the accounts got deactivated which makes no sense because this is not a subscription game

could also be a result of then increasing the capacity of the servers to accommodate people coming in. but this game was designed around people coming and leaving at will. so they can play some Panda wow and come back and play GW2 then leave when the never flavor of the month comes out then go back to gw2 again.

I just told you... They are watching football. I could care less about all these people xferring drama. I'm just pointing out the obvious. Football season comes around and Sundays are a lot slower.

I'm pretty sure it's based on users online during that time or something.  Most servers are full during NA primetime and then "High" during oceanic primetime.  Not this time of coarse, but that's how its always been.

Also, just saying... pretty much all the servers are at "High" now... where you had plenty on "Medium" just about a week ago when I started playing. But, you don't tell that side of the story either.

No, there were several servers that I saw on "Medium" when I joined just a little over a week ago. I assure you. So either my computer was displaying something different than yours, or... I'm not sure.

Server status is not based on accounts on the server it's based on people playing on that server at that time. For example I xfered off JQ to try to get a bugged skill point on another server and couldn't xfer back to JQ until the middle of the night due to it being full during normal hours.

maybe it's based on people logged in at the time? and no they wouldn't have put it at full capacity if they had it, because it costs $, and why would you waist money on some thing you're not using? if you're servers are half full why spend money to allow more people in? but if 99% of them are full, then it's time to increase capacity.

You can choose any two days and win your argument..... man some people try too hard to troll

Wait reading posts again, does the OP think that his SS is showing the server accounts? Cause no, it is showing the current population logged on, not the amount of accounts on the server lol, and sunday is football...
and seriously, high and full are prob very close in range... to make a thread saying the game is dead is just trolling... ya like the 10million subs says WoW is dead... I think WoW dies a few times a year, and it is only 8+ years old... hope it is not a cat...
Man Guru was a good site pre launch, but has just turned into a QQ/Troll website.

that would be an interesting way to reflect a server status, based on how many people are logged in at the time

i like the increased server capacities answer :) that's the most logical one

Well it does represent those currently online. Which is why I had to wait till 7-8am pacific to get on Blackgate, which my friend a couple hours later wasn't able to do since there was more people online and it was back to full.

It IS how they show server status... How many people are logged in at that time. When I moved out of one server to another, my target server showed FULL. I waited til off hours and the status dropped to HIGH and I was allowed to move.
It's not based on how many accounts are on that server..

Its doing the same thing every MMO does in the first few months. WoW did it to when they started. Games fill up on a crap ton of servers. Then a month goes by and they start to empty out causing server merges. After the merges there is usually a content update that draws more people to the game making the MMO put back in 2-3 more server until ti dies down again. 4-5 months go by and the game will start to sustain a healthy by steady population.

No, they wouldn't have.  The reason is very simple... in the "past" the majority of players were lower level, thus confined to fewer areas of the game, which leads to higher loads on the maps they are in.  Now, we are at a point where a lot of people are at 80, meaning they can go anywhere in the game.  So that frees them to up the caps a little so that new people can join the server as the starter zones will not be as swamped as they were early on.

Also I'm sure they've managed to tweak things a bit after a few weeks of solid data so that they can boost the caps a bit more.

NO you..... ya not gonna say it... but yes it IS how many are logged on at THAT MOMENT.... there is no question... I can see you are new to these games, I guess, cause every game shows current logged when you look at a server list.... Period.
