Wow, this early to get the make-overs get it in GW2, it took them a while to get them back in GW1. O.o

The Merchant is a merchant, as in a vendor, it has nothing to do with the TP.

I think Anet woke up and realized there aren't enough people willing to waste cash on temporary perks, no matter how much cash Anet thought they were going to make from it in the long term. Alternatively they found out most people quit after a month so it's better to hit them with up front costs. This just might raise the value of gems slightly.

I sure hope these "contract" is not monthly permanent use one. I will personally will pick up the BL Merchant one as I am a big hoarder and collect everything.

They will probably be super rare drops from Black Lion chests or super expensive off the Gem Store.

Some neat trinkets, but no doubt they were created for more cash grab in the gem store. The promotions are the only decent discount for the gem store. They still need to implement a discount for bulk gem purchases with cash.

the BLC Is a Merchant, =P  One is a Merchant the other is a portable Trading post.

I'd love to get the permanent BL merchant contract, no more visiting LA or looking for local BL merchants on the map to sell off items and pick up some after beating a dragon and heading for the next one

If the three account bound contracts are purchased from the store it's an amazing decision and I would absolutely buy them and support their implementation. Kudos to the monetization team for improving the cash shop without shuffling them into the garbage chests with the insideous gamble. If they are a gamble for gems though, that's terrible. I am skeptical on this one, I hope it's either an in-game drop or a straight up cash purchase (I'm also skeptical of the Black Lion Chest gamble for the same items because it looks like a lowball bid to make the follow up one more acceptable, but if they are affordable enough I can see buying them with gems worthwhile).

I'd love to see the name change, self-style makeover kit and the total makeover kit as gem store items. They are things I wanted to see in the game from day one and I always knew they'd be in the game, but it's good to see it's on the horizon. If they are found in game that's fantastic but at this point I've given up hope on that and sadly I suspect they will be gem purchases.

The random makeover potion and hair tonic would be great items to add to the Black Lion Chests. Their random nature fits the random gamble of the chests and people who would enjoy a random make over probably wouldn't mind gambling on the chests. If you really want a change, you can buy one straight up and have full control over what you get. If you randomly get one from a chest and the impulse takes you, it might be fun to use the random tonic.

My last thought is to wonder if it's worth investing in gems for the immediate future. If permanent portable merchants, trading posts and banks are going to be sold for gems in the near future I can see a lot of people dumping gold into the gem market making gems shoot up in value.

I don't know what that says about your attention spans, or better yet how quickly bored you can get after playing a game for less than 9 weeks straight, but hey, it's your money, so do whatever you think it's worth!

My guess is that the permanent access ones will be a super rare drop to the Black Lion Chest to promote key sales. They even changes the trading post promo ad. It would be silly to sell them for gems when they could make much more from selling keys, because lets face it, who DOESN'T have at least 50 chests sitting in their bank rotting away.

I want one of those full makeovers because my Charr has some really annoying clipping issues with his head/helm. What does that say about my attention span or how quickly I get bored?

Well it's clearly showing why there's no Xunlai agents in outposts anymore ..  

I hope we won't only get remakes but also additional hairstyles to choose from, I'm also a fan of ponytails as it's the most realistic, practical style. It definitely fits the "cosmetic only" idea behind the cash shop/gem store.

I still have some gems left anyway so let's see what the prices will be. Hard to predict, as for instance keys are ridiculously overpriced for what you get for it (btw anyone noticed that keys hardly drop anymore?) while other stuff like transmutation stones and character slots have very reasonable prices.

Strange. By the look of the thread I am the only one who is not fond of make-over items. Well changing hair would be fine, but literally complete mutation is weird. I like the permanent things in a rpg, even if you made yourself an ugly char®.

Hairstyle change will only help if there are new styles to choose from, which I doubt. As it is there are only 2-3 human styles I can stand.

It would be silly to make them random when they can assure themselves of my money by putting them in the gem store. I will never, ever spend gems on keys or anything else where the rewards are random. Random = almost always garbage.
