Out of curiousity; the god R'hlor? Something you invented or something I'm just ignorant of?

A good, sound, research over at google revealed the truth. It seems to be a deity from the Fire and Ice universe (read: Game of Thrones), which in itself is mindblowing how this good gentleman can't come up with a concept that doesn't blow to smitherins the rich and well thought lore of Guild Wars 2. And there are no Charr in Essos.

To each his own I supose.

Silmerion is a charr? I thought they didn't really serve gods anymore.

It's not impossible that you'd have people with non-mainstream religious beliefs, especially after the human gods have been silent. Even in RL, you get things like cults that people believe in, so I wouldn't be surprised if something like that could happen in Tyria. After all, they had something really close to that in GW1, didn't they, in Kryta? The Unseen, I think. Not to mention the Charr themselves and their false gods.

Certainly, most Charr do not follow any gods since they overthrew the Flame Priests some time ago. But remnants of the Flame Legion still exist, so it's not inconceivable that some of them may still believe in the Titans.

Though i would recommend not using a name from another story. I certainly see nothing wrong with using the "fire god" off the one in Song of Ice and Fire as an inspiration, it would help to also develop it in ways to make it unique.

There has been a number of "false gods" in Tyria's history, so it is possible that someone may have contacted/been contacted by some very powerful being. Whether this one is truly a god or not isn't so important, as whether people believe it is a god.
