After 100s of hours, my final Guardian Build

My question is... How would alter this build to fit more of WvW, or is it good as is?

Go back to PVT gear instead of berserker/crit for WvW, and you'll probably learn which utilities to use since you don't really use 3 shouts, like Judges Intervention, reflects, etc. depending on what you're doing is good.

I'm actually in the process of switching out my power/tough/crit % rings to berserker ascended. Have 1 of the 2 so far.
I didn't really like how much it dropped my crit chance.
I usually shoot for around 3k armor for my build though, when I get my other berserker ascended ring I'll be in the 2900 so I'll probably switch one of my armor pieces to knights since ascended gear has such good ratios for crit %.
Have you thought about switching out Purity for Strength in Numbers? That's an extra 70 toughness right there, and will allow you to avoid swapping poor ratio slots from berserker's to knights. I've found purity to be unnecessary when running Soldier runes and 2 shouts.

Thanks strife for outlining your build so well and for posting so many YT dungeon videoes which explain your thinking in certain situations.
I'm running a similar build based on yours (enjoying it as well).
One question for you. Based on your fractal videos you're often running a consecration (Wall of reflection, Spirit shield & sometimes both). Somtimes this only leaves 1 shout on the skill bar. Do you think now that you're getting more into fractals/consecrations you would change rune of the soldier for anything else ? Or (possibly overkill) alternatively would you have a separate set of gear to use for switching to when used in conjunction with 2 x consecrations ?
Also keep posting videos on your channel they are good.

Gear:
Helm, Chest, and Legs are now Knights stats (power/prec/tough).
Shoulder, Hands, Feet are now Berserker stats (power/prec/crit dmg)
I replaced the jewels in my knights jewelery with exquisite ruby jewels.
I am switching my ascended gear with power/tough/crit damage to berserker stats instead because I don't like the crit chance loss. You can switch your berserker armor to knights to still hit the 3k armor mark since Ascended gear has the best crit damage ratios besides exquisite jewels anyways, per below:
- 5 stat points - upgrade slot of trinkets and backpack
- 7 points - Ascended Back Piece
- 8.5 stat points - Ascended Rings
- 10 stat points- traits (not an equipment, but listed for comparison)
- 12 stat points - glove, shoulder and boots
- 12.8 stat points - 1H weapons and amulet
- 13.33 stat points - Earring
- 14 stat points - Backpack (rare version from guild armorsmith)
- 14.22 stat points - 2H weapons
- 14.4 stat points - Coat
- 16 stat points - Ring, helm and legging
The ascended gear is situational, you could go something like berserker for ~10% crit chance. Or if you don't have ascended, I would use knights with ruby jewels for my rings/back.
Please explain what stat points you are referring too in the above section. I am sorry but I don't follow this section as to what it means.
Your guides are a huge help and well done. Thanks for work on these.

It is the stat amounts you give up for 1% worth of crit damage.
So the lower the better, Exquisite ruby jewels you only give up 5 stat points in exchange for 1% crit damage, where you give up 16 stat points per 1% crit damage for a helm for instance.

so his crit damage should be less then now ?
if so how much would it be then cause i did some math. i got same armor, knight with the soldier rune's same earrings and amulet (emerald with ruby jewels in it) the rings i now wear are power/perci/tough (jewels in it also) and i'm going for the berserker ascended rings and back. now without the ascended gear i have 48% crit damage and from the ascended gear i would get like 21% if i'm right.
that would give me in total of 69% crit damage then.
also with all my armor knight and soldier rune and the berserker rings and back you get 2994 armor so not 3K could be i'm wrong not sure ^^
so anyone that can confirm this!?

On that note, what are recommendations for leveling a guardian through dungeons? At around level 40-50 (running mainly AC and CM) are there any important traits or gear one should look for?

Is the reason you rerolled from charr purely your opinion or is there really something wrong with them?
I don't know if I want to take the 'hipster' route and roll a norn/human
Being a hipster would be rolling a Charr because the majority do not. Like you. I think you deserve a whole new sub-classification though: The Hipstard.

Oh damn sorry. This was my post and i made a mistake. I was talking about the Rune of Strength, and not the Rune of the Soldier. My bad really.

It really depends on what level you are currently, doesn't it? We can't tell you what traits to get if you don't have the points to get them.
For what it's worth, pretty much any build can solo. You don't really need a hard-and-fast build until you start running dungeons regularly.

with the new ascended amulets, will you change it for ascended berserker or stay with ascended knights?

Berserker.
Basically planning on going all berserker ascended gear, still the knights earrings with ruby jewels, and then switching to full knights armor.
Ascended gear has the best crit % ratios so it's good to keep those berserker if you're going a balanced build between knights and zerker. Basically shooting for ~3k armor to hold agro for the warriors and mesmers which are full dps in my parties and then going for dps gear once you hit that.

Hello Strife. Just a quick question, seems like your specific setup with armor/accessories is to take advantage of the group you run with. Would you recommend the same choice of Knights/Emerald/Beserker for an all-around general setup for PUGS in dungeons/fractals?
Right now I have full Knights armor with Sup Soldier runes, but a mix of accessories. I don't have access to ascended gear yet, so deciding what to invest in. Should I go:
Earrings: Emerald/Ruby
Amulet: Beserker/Ruby
Rings: Beserker/Ruby
Backpack: Beserker/Ruby
Thanks

7 (Ascended Backpiece)
8.5 (Ascended Ring)
9.44 (Ascended Amulet)
12 (Shoulder, Hands, Foot)
12.8 (1H Weapons and Amulet)
13.33 (Earring)
14 (Rare Backpiece)
14.22 (2H weapons)
14.4 (Chest)
16 (Ring, Head, Leg)
Basically add as much crit damage/precision/power while keeping 2.9K-3K Armor and 17K-18K Health.

Ring has the worst ratio out of all gear so I would never take that berserker. As far as pugs vs organized, it just depends on your personal preference and what you can get away with.
I slowly started moving to more berserker because that's what I was comfortable with for my groups. If you need more survivability then take more knights, using pieces that have the worst ratios first.
There's not a "magic" number, I just used 3k because that's about what you get if you take knights armor and ascended jewelery (and the ruby jewels in your earrings) which has been a good balance for keeping agro and still doing decent dps.

I'm not familar with the worst/best ratios for a given piece. What would you recommend for exotic rings? Thanks

The ratios are in my guide and also what Puandro posted above. So for ring you would want knights + ruby jewels.

to get things straight, your equip would look like this:
armor: all full knights
earrings: knights/ruby
rings: ascended berserker
amulet: ascended berserker
back: ascended berserker
weapon: berserker
