Potential new warrior: some questions on WvWvW

I'm new to both GW2 and the warrior profession and as a result I'm literally full of questions.
Initially I played a Guardian but I oould not find my 'way' in WvW: squshy, no viable range etc...
And in fact here I am with the Warrior and a lot of questions:
1) could anyone suggest me a good WvW build which combines survivability and damage? is such thing viable?
2) I'm not a huge fan of GS but I seem to notice that most people run around with one: is it just for 100blades?
3) is it viable using 3 weapon options (Melee/melee & melee/ranged) to adjust to different situations such as a skirmish or a siege?
any other suggestion will be most welcome!!
many thanks

Remember, this is an AOE build, not effective 1v1.

2.people run around with GS because it's a popular weapon (due to feel and looks), it has good in fight mobility and chase, nice damage on all skills except auto attack chain, and yes people do usually get it for the 100 blades, but don't worry, rarely do random people in WvW know how to set up the skill properly
3.Yes it's perfectly fine to run around with 3 weapon sets, but the swapping from inventory can get tedious at times.

2. GS/Sig is IMHO not very useful in WvW. HB deal big damage but is relative ez to avoid. Those running with one are usually new in WvW or just too lazy to switch (aka me). I usually run a S/S or S/WH if I going to spend some major time in WvW mode,
3. I actually run more then 3 set. main set: S/S, S/WH, GS, hammer, Axe/SH - not a mace kind of guy ..:-). 2nd set is usually LB or RF. One good thing about War is we are jack of all trades and can fill multiple needs based on situation. AOE, Range, DPS, DOT, tank, CC ... etc. You will not be able to build for all of them but that doesn't means you can't serve that roll.

I would not count the mace out as the OH weapon. I ran around w/ Axe/Mace as my roaming build, paired up with my group I had 2 ways to stack on weakness, a cripple, an immobolize, bleed etc. Hell, I just LOVED hitting the 5 key and watch my mace splay out someone who did 2 dodges missing other attacks and then get flattened and jumped by me and my guild mates.

I find that ax/sh will offer me more defense...and love Eviscerate whilst Sword/axe will allow me mobility....and I love skill 5 of the axe lol
Do you think this kind of setup would be a lot less powerful that GS?
The issue with GS is that in my previous life as a guardian I learned fairly easily how to avoid HB and I imagine that a lot of people are doing the same!

Aha... ahahahahaha. Good one.

Quit the game. Not being an ass. You won't find a class that suits your playstyle. Warrior is the most squishy profession in PvP.

I run precision/condition dmg/toughness gear with 20 Arms, 30 Tactics, 20 Discipline (0,20,0,30,20) as I feel this gives a wide array of options using the weapons that set benefits the most (sword, rifle, longbow sort of), with leeway to support but still some quite a bit in offense. And easy to maintain permaswiftness to boot.
However, if you are not looking to hardcore support I would not recommend maxing any trait line save for _maybe_ defense and going full on balanced. The 30 point ones are really not needed.

Not sure why people like this even post. Everyone just ignores them anyway ( while laughing at them ).
So I have played Warrior since beta not the easiest class for WvW but definately playable. It can be specced as a good all around but I have not been able to dominate ( certainly dodge and skills are critical ). But still have alot of fun while being involved where ever the fight goes.
You can spec high dps but then need to stay away from direct melee. So either rifle/bow with GS/Axe to finish off.
Or spec defense/health for melee but then wont have the power to kill anyone yourself. Axe/Mace/GS.
I play more in the middle 3k armor, 46% crit, and 3k attack. Main axe/shield with GS to finish. Never use 100b as everyone can escape. Also carry both rifle/bow, depending on situation, for defending or when fighting at distance.
The GS not only has great dps but also can be used for escape. So not a bad first or second weapon.
Having said all this I am still chasing the perfect build. Always trying something different but using Knights armor with 0/20/30/0/20 right now.

Don't underestimate the gs in wvw. Yes 100blades is so easy to dodge unless you use frenzy but I only use it to get a bit of damage in after a cc or if my team has contributed to a cc, but usually don't let the full sequence finish. The gs gives you great melee aoe and some of the best mobility skills in the game. If you want to go full support swap the gs for mace/shield or sword shield.
Finding the perfect build does come down to how you play tho. I love to lead the charge jump into a big group do some cc and damage then finish off when the team joins the fight or run back behind the lines. It also acts as a brilliant distraction as most tend to switch targets to the fool that just rushed them leavin my team to dish out some vital damage as they try to take me down. This build was built for that
