Feel of mace and hammer?

I just started playing the warrior and I really want to know how it feels using a mace or hammer. Conceptually, I feel like they need to be heavy hitters with a bit of knock back/down ability. The skill descriptions seem to cover the latter, but I can't find a good video to confirm this yet.

I know I was dissapointed with the guardian hammer due to the long stalled 3rd chain strike, and it would be a shame if I didn't like the warrior's hammer too.

Hammers are fun on both classes. I'll admit it to a long while for me to 'sink' in with the guardians hammer-gamplay...but once it did...its certainly a blast. Now and warrior, the hammer feels a lil different...certainly more aggressive. It's more of an active condition control versus the guardians passive spacing control.

Autoattack on Guardian Hammer is a joke I agree.

Warrior hammer is far better: great adren skill, great skills in general, fast hits.

hammers feels great. hits way harder than mace, and i think faster too.  the 3rd strike on the mace 1 skill is painfully slow.  i use mace/shield for defensive play, but most mob i need control over have defiant anyway.  hammer has a much better balance between control and damage.  if you have to choose only 1 weapon set out of everything to use as warrior, i recommand hammer.

Really like the Hammer with my Warrior it has this "smash in your face feeling". Nothing better than permanently stun this mobs who annoy you with their cripple, knockdown... I think Hammer is a really nice weapon for dungeon groups, weakness + cripple + several stuns really can help to keep you group alive.

Hammer = aoe group stun - more aggressive gameplay - higher possibility of death. Great for aoe situations or when having to maximize damage on those stupid graveling mounds.

Mace - single target control - Mace 5 is incredible for knockdowns, coupled with mace 3 and the stun and you can take a difficult mob and limit him to essentially one hit every 6-8 seconds.  An amazing weapon if you are playing beside a glass cannon player.  DW Mace feels and looks slow.  Mace 4 is kind of meh with an odd swing, and mace auto attack is brutally slow. Mace 2 is decent.  

All in all Mace is siginificantly better defensively while Hammer is much better for group damage control with it's slows.

I love DW maces on bosses as you can completely remove their Defiant stacks faster than anyone setting them up for either a knockdown or a 3 second Daze.

Not to mention that for a reason, they actually "feel" like holding a weapon in your hands, swords and axes hitting effects are so "irrelevant" but when you use Earthshaker or Skull Crack you "feel" the hit... What it`s nice... I mean... That`s important in any game!

Anyway, Hammer grants you a lot of AoE control, and has a devastating autochain, and dat stun... Just a great weapon. Maces are good maybe the best main-hand weapon of the warrior, you can combine it with all others to have really nice changes in your gamplay, shield for tank, axe for AoE-DPS, mace for more control, sword for a balanced solution... Is a great main-hand weapon.

Mace isn't very popular in general play due to the lack of a great adrenal attack and it's sometimes slow activation.  It's meant for one on one fighting.  It's the very opposite of the axe, meant more for mobile fighting against groups.

The hammer can be a lot of fun, however like the mace it's not meant for fighting groups, with the notable exception of it's adrenal skill that can be a beast when used right.  It's a reliable pick for dungeons.

Single target weapons: Mace, Hammer, sword, shield, rifle

Mob weapons: Greatsword, Longbow, axe, warhorn (more of a support thing)

Hammer is the BEST for that. The adrenaline skill of hammer is maybe the best AoE control skill of the warrior... By miles.

I do like to have mace and OH sword for single targets, the stuns and bleed are fantastic for control.

that feel, I love that feel.  started playing my warrior today, found a nice low level hammer as I was going up, and never looked back.  absolutely love it.

Why should a weapon who has 4 AoE skills out of 6 not meant fighting for groups? Combine a Hammer with "Fear Me" and Stomp and you have really nice group control, so you can prevent many deaths for your group. I always switch between Hammer for groups and GS for Bosses.

The mace is short range AoE! It hits up to three targets with skill #1. It's more than just a single target weapon, and is half of the best defensive weapon set for warrior when paired with a shield.

The tradeoff for a sub-par burst attack is that not using it often provides great synergy with Berserker's Power and Adrenal Health.

I'm not a big fan of mace. The stun on mace has such a long cool down. I also don't really like hammer on guardian.

But hammer on a warrior... My favorite. You get some good AOE and lots of crowd control.

As I'm sure the others have said, the warrior hammer chain doesn't suffer from that. For sure, the hammer is a slow-ish weapon relative to the others, but the third strike in the chain has a very short delay that feels quite natural.

Overall I really like the feel of the hammer, and its my preferred weapon. Its slowness lends a feeling of heaviness, and with a bit of Might and Fury I think the numbers back that up. Well-executed, it gives you a great feeling of being "in control" of the situation, and that the squishier group members are freer to do what they want because of you.
