I really despise people who think they are a highly creative butterfly and look down or insult those they deem to be stupid for having different tastes or opinions on the matter. If anybody is stupid I think it is you.

Nah, it's pretty stupid to be so uncreative that you have to replicate other video game characters in an MMO to suit your tastes. Pretty sure only teenagers and short bus people do that. The mainstream casual who fawns over one franchise or popular trope so much that everything they do is influenced by it. It's like drawing the Halo 4 logo for an art class at university, stupid and hints at premature mental state. Not everybody that does this is as described and they are just having fun with it, but there are some really stupid and uncreative people in MMOs, that's what i despise.

Because University classes are totally as important to one's life decisions as it is playing a MMO

The point of this game is to live the story you want in the world of Tyria, many of the people here are assassin's creed fans and would love to project that character and thus live that story in Tyria, there's nothing wrong with that. Or what, are people who also try to go for the Ninja look very unoriginal because they already exist? The point is to enjoy this game and this people already are in their own way, you should in your own.

You're smart to ask first. Duelist Gear looks completely different on females. It looks less Assassin's Creed and more dominatrix.

It's same skin. Medium named armor and duelist armor has same skin :(

No, it does not, unless it was changed and the armor preview site I use isn't updated. This is what duelist is supposed to look like:

http://www.gw2armor....splay_looks.php

And this is the named one:

http://www.gw2armor....splay_looks.php

I have a question guys, sorry if unrelated, so each named set has an unique set of stats as presented here:
http://wiki.guildwar...amed_armor_sets

They also seem to have an existing rune, can you overwrite this rune? For example, I'd like a named chest piece for my Condition Thief, but none of the runes the named armor sets inherently have seem to synergize with it (like the runes of the afflicted, adventurer, etc would). Can you overwrite the runes of the named armor?

The duelist armor you linked is the PvP version.  The PvE version that is called duelist is the same as the named armor.

I don't know if there is a name for the PvP duelist armor in PvE but it is the karma armor that is given out in places like Kessex.

My bad, I haven't touched PvP so I didn't knew. What's up with that though, that's a huge inconsistency on Anet's part. Why not make the same armor look the same in both PvP and PvE?

Did I got something wrong or does that mean that you can only have this if you have Hall of Monuments points, since Heritage can be only obtained through the hall of monuments? At least if the armor I found on wiki is the one you mean... Would be sad, becausen the assa armor looks kinda epic, but I do not have gw1 :(

You are correct in that assumption. It can only be attained if you have 5 HoM points (I think it's 5).

There is a finite number of armor skins in the game.  If you think you are creative or unique for combining different pants with the same few armors available you really have no right to insult the intellect of anyone wanting to make a skin clone from another game.  The entire end of this game revolves around looking how you want to look.  Its not as if there is a skin creator and we all have this wonderful canvas to use.

Although I wasn't exactly going for the Assassin's Creed look, a hood and a white dyejob is all you need  :P

I like that :)

I currently have a female norn thief, but I can't find any female medium armours I really like, so I was was thinking about changing her to a male thief. Would need to create a second thief for the hood though :S

Out of interest, is that the thinnest norn body type?

No, although I can't remember exactly, I think it's one of the medium-sized body types.

Head: Thief Starter Hood
Shoulder: Studded (unfortunately you can only get this by completing an early story mission, the studded set in PvE comes with different shoulders)
Body: Named exotic
Legs: HotW
Gloves: Heritage (GW1 HoM reward)
Boots: Order of Whispers

thanks :D will have to find a replacement for the shoulders, but that won't be too hard. I'm tempted to get the whispers hood instead of deleting one of my chars to get the starter hood back.

thanks for answering all the questions :) now I just have to kill time until the servers let me download the patch :(

I made my armor with AC3 as inspiration for my female thief. The male look can't be achieved on a female so i tried to make one myself, and it worked out pretty nice in my opinion.
