Hello my fellow explorers! I have just uploaded the first (and probably last until an expansion arrives) update of the Historical Guide to Tyria.

What is new
  • Much higher resolution (Bask in the glory of 100Mpx!)
  • Now available in Large, Medium and Small
  • Points of interest that weren't on the initial release:
  • Fixed a typo with Longeye’s Ledge
  • Fixed some minor typesetting bugs
A Historical Guide to Tyria Pre-Searing edition
Note: Press the download button at the top to get the full image.

I have updated a list of the locations in a Reddit post and a big thank you for all your comments and suggestions!

Update: Added the pre-searing version to this post

I hope they bring back Slaver's Exile in a following expansion. That dungeon was brilliant, albeit frustrating as fack.

This is amazing, I love this kind of thing. Thanks for all the time you invested in creating it.

Edit: Saw that you also have a map of pre-searing locations on that account as well, which was also great!

That's correct I've made it after somebody reminded me I didn't include the Pre-Searing locations this time, I'll update the post as well!

This is simply amazing!
I love it!

However, I've found a little error (or omission), probably because you're missing a location on your map in Brisban Wildlands, you have misplaced the Henge portal (I take it was supposed to be the portal you exit at the end of GW1 Aurora Glade mission?).

Please compare to this Wiki map, there is a small area on the west from Toxal Bog called Aurora Remains.

Running around the Tyria of GW2, I love visiting locations and seeing how they've changed since the first game. This map is amazing and tickles my fancy quite thoroughly. Incredible work That Shaman, your efforts are much appreciated.

Thank you for that!

That is very sweet. I'll check out some locations tonight.

I wasn't aware how ArenaNet used the GW1 map so accurately .

Nice job. I think a couple things are a little off (I don't think Yak's Bend and CTF were that close for example) but overall very nice.

Very nice, I also like these kind of things
I see that you have the Temple of Grenth (Lornar's Pass), Balthazar (Ascalon and the Falls)

Some are missing like:

Lyssa in http://wiki.guildwar...wiki/Sage_Lands
Melandru http://wiki.guildwar...n_Serpent_Lakes

There are a ton of statues of the gods scattered all over the landscape, but only three actual temples (counting ToA). I don't blame him for not putting in all the others as almost every zone has several. The Balthazar statue in Pre-Searing is a special case, as it stands alone, unlike the others that are associated with different landmarks (Ashford Abbey, Catacombs, Althea's stage, King's Watch).

Just wanted to let you know that these maps are still useful to those of us who like to learn the history of Tyria and a great visual to bridge the gap between the two games.  Well done and thank you!
