They've actually been available for quite a while.  The store I work at got them two weeks ago.

Has somebody seen a list of these retailers? Or if they're gonna be available in other countries than the U.S.? The post on their website is remarkable vague.

I've seen them in the Best Buy in my town, which I can't name because the town's name is offensive. Look up the county seat for Forsyth County, GA.

Anet put out a long list for the GW2 pre purchase/pre orders which retailers in each country would selling the game so your post is null and void.

I think the gem cards will be sold where the other games are being sold but thats my opinion, like gas stastion,supermarkets,bookstores and alot of places you find these cards. They wont be hard to ship at all. Lol

were both $28 for 2000 gems, a .71 ratio rather than the 1.25 buying through the gem store.  That doesn't include tax.

For € it's 2000 gems for 24,99 €. In game it's 800 for 10 € which means it's the same (as long as my math is right). Price from Gamestop.

Seems as if Amazon has it for 24.99.  Newegg is selling it for 28.99.  Another site I've never heard of is Excitedgamer.com.  They also have the gem card for 24.99.

Does anyone have any experience with excitedgamer?

I buy mine from www.gametimecards.co.za, found them when I bought GW2 and they were first that were selling codes so i think im gonna stick with them for now, switching to new site always a risk

They're also available at Gamestop in the US. I bought a $15 + tax/1200 gems one there (at a Rochester NY location) on Friday.

I would guess that most major gaming chains probably have them as well as the listed retailers.

Does anyone know why some "retailers" (I have no idea who the official ones are) offer the Gems Cards CHEAPER than Arena Net's in-game service i.e. but to make things worse - they offer GOLD bundles to like 1/4th of Arena Net's current price..

Really curious about that. I can't come up with an explanation how that's supposedly having Arena Net's blessing.

Actually, when I wanted to buy one yesterday the price has gone up. It went from 24,99€ to 27,99€.

I just don't see how this makes sense for either party, unless it's the exact same price ratio.

Not like they stand in competition to each other, they target a different audience. (Paypal/CC users vs. cash users)

Well, for the last weeks no store in my city had any gem cards left at all. Now they had been re-supplied again with a higher price due to the high demand. Did the price in the gemshop change at all? That would make at least a bit of sense but otherwise ANet would only hurt their profit by rising the prices of the gem cards.

Though I didn't check the amount of gems that sell for 28€ now.

The prices remain untouched since release. 2000 gems (1600+400) = 25€
