Anet says Dungeon/open world loot is "abysmal".

Dungeon items should have been just skins you unlock and can apply to any item of their type just for looks, preferably an unlimited ammount of times to increase their appeal and avoiding that using it on anything that isn't a level 80 exotic meant wasting it.

Of course nothing can be done now, it would be cripling for anyone starting the game now in comparisson to the rest of us who are not just equiped but swiming in exotics. And if they removed our exotics, I can only imagine the flamewar that would ensue, lol.

Some mistakes can't be fixed. We'll have to live with this.

The game is only four months old, it's not too late yet.  If you plan on the game running 5+ years, then there is still plenty of time to make changes.  Most of the players that will ever play this game, still haven't played yet.

100% need a fix to this. It's so god damn annoying how theres no sets or other things you can get from dungeons. Or why theres no incentive to not do speed runs and skip through all the beautiful cinematics for most groups

His grap skill can be stopped by Stability and even reflecting skills (mesmer bubble, guardian wall...)
This boss is just a joke when you know when to use the right skills at the right time.

If you have watched Anet for any period of time you know that what they consider a generous improvement in drop rates is likely to be in the one tenth of one one-hundreth range. So your chance of getting an exotic from say a Champion which may have been .01% before will now be .011%. Don't hold your breath.  Show me a cash shop based asian grinder that has decent drops, anybody?

Euhm we did it after the 15nov update.

26s*3= 72s
15s from looting body of boss * 4 (spider/kholer/troll/end boss) *3 =1g80s
5s from bag of gold *4 *3= 60s

Total of 3g and some silver, and then merch all drops except dust and rare/exotic. :)

There are dungeon weapons and armor sets. Some of the dungeon sets have specific stats only obtainable via dungeons (for now), like the soldier set.
And dungeons have runes also only obtainable in them, or via the tokens.

There is incentive to do all bosses/mobs, but those only reward cash. While there are still some people that only want dungeon tokens, and don't care about gold.

Cinematics get boring after the 100th time you run a dungeon. :)

with an omnomberry bar, the queen spider, kholer, troll (if it spawns) all will give around 15s plus the bag.  The end boss actually gives a bit more, closer to 20s many times.  add in 26s per completion and selling off crap drops to the merchant, its easy to find that Gilles' math is more or less correct.  It's quite easy to make 4g on a full run of AC, and with a good team it usually takes about an hour to do all 3 paths whether you kill kholer or not.  doing it last night netted me closer to 5g actually.

Yup, 2 weeks ago I was lucky and got one of the new exotics.
A dagger "hope of humanity" or something, netted me 8g. :)

Never had an exotic drop for me, despite levelling two characters to 80 and clearing Orr. Only exotics I've got were either crafted, bought or given as map completion rewards (even then, the exotics weren't level 80).

It seems Arenanet are trying to force us to take Magic Find gear over something more appropriate.

I'm moving to other RPGs until they fix the drop rate.

The drop rate for exotics is abysmal.   Totally agreed!  I've only gotten one from one of the hundreds of chests I've opened and never, ever from a boss or open world kill.

Luckily, it is pretty easy to get exotics from dungeon tokens.  So I'm not complaining.  I have three characters in full exotic armor with mostly exotic weapons.

I would complain about how hard it is to get a precursor, but why complain?  It's a pie in the sky and I'm not going to even chase after it.  If the bloomin' pie falls on my head, I'll take it.  Otherwise, why bother?   The chances are so painfully small, whether you are talking about drops or the mystic toilet, that it's not even worth thinking about.

Although to address your point about buffed drops rates, how much were they buffed? From 0.01% to 0.02%? Still so pathetically rare that some people will never see one drop in open world.

I made a thread pretty much like this one, but targeting more than just the cash flow in this game. It got shot down.
Funny how that works. Perhaps next time I should use a very old ANet quote, and people will agree on a most obvious observation instead of going into fan boy mode with their blinders on.

BTW, drops rates still suck.

Dunno...I got two rares in a short period of time not even farming enemies in cursed shore..just running around getting nodes.

I also got a named exotic off a player corpse in WvW.

Then again that might be the only good stuff I get for a while.

I dont belive that last bit " Most of the players that will ever play this game, still haven't played yet." why ? they sold 2-3 mil on hype now the hype is gone and alot of ppl are grumbling over the game id say its had its "peak" of players. MMO players are a funny lot once u leave a mmo very slight chance you will go back as u only remember the bad parts.

1st of all Kholer is very easy(if not easiest dungeon boss after The ghost Eater), if you atleast warn others to dodge wich animation, also stability's/anti projectiles/stealths all work, as a meser i always throw a feedback bubble on him, 2 yes the rewards are crap, per say, a level 80 should ALWAYS get a Lodestone over a core, not run through per say T.A end up with 5 cores and 0 lodestones(full run) depending on MF the bosses should drop golds/exotics(dependant on level) +bags of wonderous goods, not a bunch of blues and sometimes the green clock work and rarely the gold, YES I LIKE HOW MF EFFECTS ENEMY LOOT, for those who dont care for loot, use combat gear, but farming earth elementals for 1 hour and 15 mins and getting a lodestone is becoming rediculous, infact that whole drop scale annoyed me so bad i played for the first time today in i think 2+ weeks

I started gw1 1 and a half yrs after release and know others of the same nature.  I don't find it hard to believe

Sales might go up a bit just because of players buying a 2nd account, in gw1 i had 3 accounts with all xpacs for those accounts, GW2 imo will not see a massive up in current numbers, neither will the xpacs, even WoW dont sell a xpac to all who owned the rest of the xpacs so few years down the line when gw2 has 1-2 xpacs out ppl will need to buy GW2+ xpac 1 and 2 just to play the current "end game" thats a problem anet is going have to work out how to fix, as thats one thing putting ppl off WoW is the cost of it to get current game content (is alot cheaper now than it was but still).

No, no it wouldn't.  I have to disagree here, it would only help to keep the fashionistas that already play the game playing a bit longer.  I fall into this category.  I would not buy a game simply because they added more skins...I seriously doubt any other game would either.

maybe you don't realize there are ppl in rl  with literally no time on there hands.those situations change. Life's circumstances always play a big role in sales.  For a couple examples. College and military (Afghanistan ). I'm sure there are more.see life doesn't revolve around gaming for those type of ppl
