That's completely wrong - like, the complete opposite of reality.
1) HB actually has less DPS than autoattack.
We use it for the burst and might stackng but DPS wise it's not better.
2) Other GS skills hit for a ton of damage as well.
Our shittiest GS attack hits for as much as Guardian's strongest attack.
3) Greatsword doesn't mean glass cannon.
On my Warrior I hit 25k crits on HB and have 3200 armor + 11s invulnerability.
Please don't spread misinformation.

wow. I could not disagree with ya more.
Red Falcon summed it up well so I will not repeat his dps spec comments.
However, I play as a shout war with full Clerics, the trinkets I adjust due to need and group but I still hit 14k crits and my constant 1500-3000 auto swings add up to a ton.
Also the #3 skill hits for great dmg and is a dodge, plus if you disable melee assist in options you can #5 right through a boss while avoiding dmg. (cant have boss targeted tho)
Huge mobility, extra "evade" attacks and great damage.
<3 GS !!
Played right, I can keep mobs on me in 100% Clerics gear and trinkets, because of crits and dmg, that is with a full dps team. It's not always easy but possible. Keeping Fury up non-stop is a must for keeping aggro, using Sig of Rage and FGJ.
Keeping most of the aggro is no small feat with 1K +HP but the GS makes it doable.
*edit is due to posting from my phone, then getting home and correcting my many typing errors.

I can't help but feel my greatsword isn't the best choice for my Mesmer, but it's just SO MUCH FUN to watch. I'm a big fan of even the autoattack, how we don't even hold it, it just floats and revolves and spits out lances of plasma and lightning. I'm absolutely in love with that.
And the ground-stabby we share with Guardians. Love. Even when it sucks.

This is pretty true, the Mesmer probably has the coolest actual use of the greatsword, followed by the guardian. I love how I don't hold the greatsword, and it is even better on the Charr who only put out one hand to levitate the greatsword with.

Mesmer - useable at range, can spawn a berserker on people at range with warrior ability that aoe's everyone and you can blow it up causing various status effects for more aoe. You can summon a berserker on people up on the walls or siege equipment behind walls. You have knockback, and two other dmg abilities what GS.

The GS Guardians skills just seems a lot more useful, and cover more bases than the other two.

Kit: Mesmer is leaps and bounds better than the other 3.

I have an exotic greatsword (believe it's a knight's Pearl) with a sup. rune of Undead Slaying. I wade into the undead like they were the scale in the river outside Div. Reach. It's not hard with high enough crit to easily do 40,000 dmg to a single target in one press.
While you don't have the satisfaction of getting the side effects you would with other class's GS abilities, the warrior's is simple to execute and deals consistent, raw damage you can rely upon.

But guardians great sword I feel is very solid even after the nerf to symbol of wrath.

what are u guys smoking? I assume he means best as in DPS.
The warrior is very boring to play tho... 2111121111121111121111 somewhere in the middle u pop FGJ, and On my Mark... but its just 2 button mashing. However i have yet to see any class come close to the DPS numbers of a GS warrior.
Hundered Blades when traited and setup correctly does anywhere from 12K-35K (Totally buff'd)

This guy proves it..

There is no way a guardian can top a warrior in DPS or any class for that matter with a greatsword.
Personally if u ask me, guardians are better off with hammers as it does more dps in the long run + lays down a symbole every third hit and with when traited can heal and also give protection and inflict damage.
