Greetings all

I am on the final stretch now for the completion of Twilight and I just feel so underwhelmed using a great sword, perhaps it is my spec in PvP or the static nature of it, but I just don't feel comfortable equipping it I suppose. ( I played sword + warhorn for the majority of my time prior to obtaining Dusk )

I am first wondering if it is even possible to sell it on the TP ( I do know that the TP will take a giant chunk of it for themselves ), or if anyone has even tried in the past to sell a legendary on the TP.

Furthermore, what sort of price would one put on such an item? 1500-4000g?

I quickly added up all the purchasable materials required ( including precursor ) and it came out to 715g. What price to you put on the time and effort required for everything else?

I am looking for some feedback to determine that path I will take once completed.

Thanks for your assistance in advance :)

max 2x cost how much gold it take + every skill point spend (there was calculator how much 1 sp cost) + karma spent etc (every 44k or some is like 3-4g, look exotic karma armors in orr)

For example best armors from craft cost 3-4g and same amout for karma is arond 40k

I'm pretty sure it's been stated several times they are soulbound on use, not acquire.

Max price for selling is 999, which is terribly underpriced for Twilight.

The only way you can sell this is through mail and/or blackmarkets.

But no one will risk trading with you since the chance of scamming is high.

Please be aware, selling items on this forum is not allowed.

(I know you're not doing that but I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea.)

You are fooling yourself, user. Nothing here is what it seems. ANet is not the plucky hero, Guru is not an evil empire, and this is not the grand arena.

No. Dont. Sell. It
Because, you are one of the very few who has it yet you want to sell it, at max 999g on tp which is extremely not worth it.
I suggest you keeping it and showing off. If you decide to roll a new char maybe you might like greatswords e.g. Mesmer
Else, give it to me free.

I'm a legendary owner, and I can confirm that when I obtained mine, it was soulbind on equip.
Like they said, 999g is really not worth it, considering how time consuming it is (plus obviously the price of mats / precursor).
The only way is thru mail, and good luck to find a proper way to do it.

Why do all think 999g is the cap of gold you can trade it at?
Surely you can send a mail twice to give him more then that

And the only proper way to do it through mail (to save yourself from getting scammed; to the seller obviously)
Let them send the money, once you got everything, send the sword, thats all there is too it

You dont blindly send them 1k gold, you ask them pictures of it in their inventory, not soulbound, and what not
Its not hard, just stop thinking that everyone trading outside of trading post is a scammer

And record the entire conversation/agreement/transaction with a video program or at least with screen shots. I've had people try to buy things from me via mail system and I usually say 'hold on a sec turning on fraps'.

Quite a few times they just decided that they didn't want to purchase 'item' anymore.

Possibly scammers or someone offended but I could care less if you're offended by me documenting a transaction.

Not sure if it's been said, but I' fairly certain it will not be sellable on the tp.  All things sellable on the tp, but without a current buy or sell offer, show up on the tp anyways, just with no offers shown.  I don't think I've seen legendaries on there.

That's actually a pretty good idea :o

Man buying anything outside the TP is a huge massively bad idea, ArenaNet doesn't care if you have a written contract in blood you're trusting a random person on the net to either provide a legendary weapon or thousands of gold... things can only end badly in that case.

That. You can record the transaction, Anet wouldn't give a damn if either player got scammed.

even if they have it in their inventory, you can not be 100% sure they'll give you the item. it's true that not everyone outside the TP is a scammer, but when you're talking thousands of gold, would you take the risk? i wouldn't.

Arenanet doesn't, but usually people don't being like to be proven by the community that they are a known scammer, particularly if that person is active in the community.

"Although they say soulbound on use, players have reported them being account bound, and Dev Lindsey has hinted that this is the case."

Straight from the wiki.

If you do it via mail you surely gonna get scammed, ANet will not support you or give you anything back even if you have video and screenshots of the whole deal, save yourself some tears.

Anet has a strict policy on scamming.

They WILL ban the scammer. But they will not restore your items or gold. So both people lose.

Why not sell the underlying mats separately?

Otherwise I'd arrange for an escrow arrangement via some trusted 3rd party, if you can find one (like an ANet developer!)

these kinds of problems existed myriads ago and what naevius suggested is actually the only sane option.
im pretty sure you can find a person that is trustworthy to act as a middle man. you could even choose someone who cant wield a greatsword or who is a 2months-in-still-lvl2-pvper who doesnt care bout pve stuff anyways. or simply someone known in the community as suggested, but im pretty sure anet devs will not spend their time on stuff like this (and rightfully so)

Take in consideration that recieving 1000 gold by mail will get you banned for "buying gold".

Well this would only last until ANET introduces the new name change item to the cash shop. They already have the files in the game just need to push a button and release it.

I ended up by equipping Twilight and am loving it. Currently working on Bolt with all my Chinese gold farming money and stuff.

Edit: In case people are still uncertain it was in fact Bind on Equip.

Oh, now I see your true color.

Hope you will be happy with the imminent banhammer once Anet got their system up and ready.
