By the way, I think the cap on the TP is actually 9999g 99s 99c, not 999g 99s 99c. 10k gold is plenty to sell Twlight for

If you ask me there`s just few ways to get enough gold for mats (maybe even precursor) and make Legendary Weapon.

1.Your entire guild donate mats/gold.....possible but not very likely

2.Spend ridiculous amount of real cash on gems......not wise those are pixels after all

3.Buy gold from gold sellers......and break every rule game has

Let`s face it only achievement in creation of Legendary weapon is "grind" based karma, skill points, 100% map & dungeon tokens.
Anyway those Legendary weapons will go for like 50 gold on TP in a year time.....there is even category "Legendary" in a search engine on TP !

Indeed, there are quite a few people who made initial investments early in the games life based on TP speculation, have experience from other MMO markets ( EvE myself ) and have accrued enough money for legendary items, and bought them when they were 50g or forged them early.

The thought that I must be a ) Chinese and therefore b ) a gold farmer, has to be warm and supportive blanket that protects people from any possible chance, that I could be smarter and or more proactive than they are.

I do agree that the window for early market gains has since closed, yet I would imagine some people such as myself have stockpiles of items that they have in reserve. Paying for these legendaries have depleted my reserve considerably, but I found them to be worth it.

For example I purchased quite a few Charged Lodestones for about 25-30s each early on when I decided to make Bolt first ( but swapped to Twilight after Broodmothers generous gift ). They are sitting above 2g now, this is an example of how you can turn 25-30g into 200+ although this was based on luck and the discovery of popular mystic forge recipes
