The bad thing is when you use obsidian in earth (skill 5) you can not contest the point. Which allows them to cap the point even though you might be standing there. Thus rendering one skill, probably one of your best, virtually pointless as a bunker. Granted that still leaves you with the other skills I just think it a shame to see one skill as good as that completely useless when playing a bunker build.

Dagger is just much more well rounded. It has good defense through CC and heal, but adds mobility and damage. Focus has mainly defense, and that defense is situational. It also lacks a heal which hurts its defensive potential and narrows its role even more. The focus has a range advantage, but again it doesn't help much against melee, and it's not very strong for kiting.
One thing that is nice about focus, although I've found it more useful in PvE is that S/F has 4 blast finishers and the cooldowns are at most 25s, so you can get more might stacks than S/D, and Earthquake has a rather long cooldown, and I can't seem to cancel it since the recent patch. Although I often don't want to burn that many cooldowns in PvP especially putting attunements on cooldown at the same time, and it's harder to fit in during combat because of the shape of the fire field.
