My god...  They should just remove the /M chat feature from these games.  I honestly can't remember the PVP Chat in GW RA's ever being so obnoxiously filled with ass sniffing idiots.  Last night, I was in a room with a retard bunker guardian that felt the need to stroke his dong whenever he was downed by more than 1 person...  !!!HUR HUR YOU CANT 1v1 ME /dickstroke!!!   Apparently it's puss mode to double team a guardian sitting on a capture point...   you get the idea...

  Now, I know it's simple to remove this feature from my own screen, but... like the lottery, I play it because there is a chance that I may get lucky enough to win something.  Same goes for /m chat.  Somebody may actually write something worth reading, or there may actually be a good conversation going on.    They did great by not allowing people to compare kill count and damage at the end of a battle (like WoW).  They should have kept the chat /say or /team only.

Remove the map chat? Dude, this game is played mostly by adults who have lots of experience in the online world. They should be able to handle a little trash talk. Those who can't, have two opinions:
1) turn the map chat off
2) uninstall and download Hello Kitty Online.


ps. Double team is always puss mode, but of course that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.

I think the players who have been playing the MMOs long enough knows when it's best just to ignore certain things. Some learn it sooner, some later.

I think the maturity level of the average GW player was a lot higher than most of the tip touchers that play GW2...  The point of the thread was not a complaint about trash talk, even though most of the people that do talk trash are not good enough to eat the asshair from a toilet seat...  Besides WoW... I've never seen so much cock stretching in any online game.  Maybe thats what Blizzard has turned MMO's into, I don't know.  It's annoying to read.  Either some derp builds for pure defense and runs his mouth like it's his playstyle keeping him alive.  Or some wiener builds a glass spiker and pulls out his ruler to measure.  I've been playing PVP games for over a decade, so I've seen my fair share of retards.

Humm, I dont know, I rarely see trash talking going on on the /m chat. Usually we either discuss builds and counters (since the point of hot join is mostly testing of builds and having fun) or make jokes about something ridiculous that happened (for example, a tick of poison applied by a downed necromancer stealing Svanir from 5 members of the enemy team). Maybe I am just lucky.

If you were really that annoyed you should have just blocked him. No need to feed attention or waste the energy. You can't control the type of people you meet or much less expect the game to do it for you, so you have to be able to do at least that much.

You could prohibit a good conversation from taking place by removing the option for people to hold a good conversation.

On topic: Map chat is fine, leave it be imo. If you don't want to see the douche chat on-screen, use the block feature that is provided to you in-game. Easily fixes all your problems within a couple mouse clicks that takes MAYBE 2 seconds if you're a little unfamiliar with the positioning.

From my what i have seen in life, any grown man that cant handle a bit of trash talk is socially 'off' in someway...   Thats not to say you dont get worked up and talk trash back, a grown man crying about some kid guardian talking smack and wanting /map removed instead of just turning it off.... whats wrong with you?

Some people use video games as a means to improve their low self esteem, by gloating and making excuses for they they die.... its common human behavior, you do have the option to turn off map chat if you like...  it doesn't need to be removed just because ppl say things you don't like

I for one find it damn entertaining when someone gets upset that they get killed and feel the need to justify why they died to promote the illusion of "Im tha best and better than you at thiz game"...

It's the same for boxers, (professional) wrestlers, or any other sport (yeah yeah wrestling isn't a sport) where people fight against other people. Trashtask is part of the psychical game.
