Aha, OK... I was under the impression that Europe got the Beerfest and the US a Thanksgiving event, but it's been a while since I played so my memory is obviously cheating me here.

And yeah the decision was silly. I guess I could understand it in countries where teenage alcoholism is widespread, but it's still kinda ridiculous. I highly doubt that a videogame event would magically turn healthy teenagers into drunks.

Actually you can get the achievement for nothing at all. You just have to leave your character afk for about 2 days.

That's odd.  If I go afk for an hour or so, I get kicked out.  I suspect botting.

I'm halfway on it. It's annoying to click on thousands of drinks but it's easy and not really expensive.

A heart NPC in Queensdale sells Stein something drink (=4 drink pts) for 28 karma. I just go once in a while when I have 150k or so karma, drink alcohol for an hour or 2, and voila... easy. (=700k karma total from 0 to 100k pts ,which honestly what else would you do with it? I have a full karma gear set, and I have a ton of karma with nothing else to use it on. Legendaries are not on my to-do list until I have everything else done).

So there you go, super easy. You can even get it free @ the pact party (end game) with the elixir of heroes, but that's way too long for me.

There are items dropped in the Sylvari personal story (level 10 and 11) called Elixir Bottles. Pick them up and set the drink skill to auto attack. Now walk away from your keyboard.
