How about others, is there anyone else who started from headstart, but still didn't reach 80 lvl for some reason?

A-net said you're in the end-game from the start, and I set my expectations accordingly. Far from getting bored, I am overwhelmed by how much there is to do in the game. I play casually - only a few hours on a few days each week. A bit of this, a bit of that, different characters and professions. I try to avoid looking stuff up on wikis or forums. I haven't been in a dungeon yet, I haven't done any PvP yet.
I plan to get years of enjoyment out this game, and so far so good. Kind of backfired a little though, with Halloween. It seems there are places I can't go with my characters, to even finish Act 2 :-P

There are too many things that I simply don't enjoy and can be improved in my opinion. I just check the forums now and then and hope that improvements will be made in the future.

As I said before, I am having the biggest issues coming across DEs and that means my game is basically just full of wildlife creatures and there's absolutely no fun in killing the same deer over and over and over again. There's absolutely no connection with the world and the game basically fails to give purpose to my character - I am just there, killing deer.

It takes me less than an hour to complete the daily including the 5/5 events..
Stop spreading lies and seriously if you ever managed to only get to 36..your opinion is as invalid as it can get.
That just for the people that might take you seriously in the future

this here is how everyone should've geared themselves mentally for this game. GW2 is not a traditional mmorpg, its not really an rpg since there are no roles. soooo many people did not do this, they wanted it to be another wow with the carrot to follow (yet they wont play Rift for some stupid reason) but its not! this is a no sub casual game.

I only have one character, and elementalist, and I think he's level 49... But like you sPvP has sucked me in and I just can't get into the PvE side of the game. I think it was because I felt let down by it. I followed the games development for about a year or so and DE's were pitched to be major world changing things with no more quest hubs etc...
Then we got the hearts which feel like quest hubs to me, especially if you want the story (Like I do) you end up talking to an NPC to get the info and background before you start doing the tasks they want you to do... DE's were fun, but they weren't world changing. They said a single decision could change an area, and it does for about 5 minutes...until it resets again... I actually prefer WoW's phasing system, that to me feels like you have more of a wordly impact.
I'm told it improves at 80, but I just cant motivate myself... instead I sPvP daily, which I absolutely adore! <3

This can lead to some areas being pretty empty - if the DEs are on cooldown, then there's not much to do in that specific area, outside of killing deer, of course.
So, with that in mind, it is you who is spreading lies here - the fact that you can complete all 5 DEs in less than an hour just means you got lucky to be in the right areas when DEs loaded. If a person isn't that lucky, then it can easily take longer than an hour for a person to complete the daily.
Having said that, * you, you *ing * and welcome to my ignore list.

Of course they are not on demand content and thats why events are great imo.But there are many todo epsecially meta events so your complains seem invalid.Just take a look here and see how many of the complaints are about difficulties and not enough lelvelling content..
right..None
And yes it can take more than an hour if your stuck in an area with not much content but in no way is it sensible to start killing random mobs in gw2..You are just losing your time.

Well I can't even do dailies, because these are all the same. And I hate to do the same stuff everytime. If dailies at least had some different stuff to do everyday, maybe that won't be so boring. I just don't have fun in GW2 PvE anymore. Its just mindless killings of mobs, but personal story is the most boring for me (one day in PvE was quite fun and it wasn't that boring, till I thought about continuing my personal story. I just completed one quest and wanted to just exit the game - its almost the same as doing any event, just with very boring story attached). For me its better to just go sPvP, its way more fun.
Also I don't really see a purpose to get max lvl, because at max lvl there is nothing new compared to other lvls, just stronger mobs.

Stop messing with Alts. Seriously. First it hinders your progress through the game. Second, you become numb to fighting the same mobs on the same maps with the several alts you are trying to play. I eventually had it and stuck to one, only to get it to 60 and get a tad burned out on that professions and skill set, so I jumped on another and rode that pony to 80. I farmed a little and got on another alt and got her to 80. I jumped on another alt and got her to 80. In less time than I had spent floundering in Alt Hell, I managed to level 3 to 80 by concentrating on individual characters and learning where to go and what to do so each new character made it even faster than the previous.

I have the complete edition on my level 29 guardian. Running around Bloodtide Coast and Sparkfly Fens wasn't easy, but I got it.

I suppose only being able to play on the weekends has something to do with it, but I see no real reason to rush, even this far out.

Been doing map completions and maxed in Blazeridge Steppes.
Personal story is still before picking an order to join.
Map exploration 59% and haven't done a single dungeon.

It really depends on how many days you play rather than hours.
I don't play that many days and when I do it's no more than 2-3 hours. I didn't play the whole month of September I think.
I just hit 138 hours and some of those are afk.

Meta-events are great for this because they tend to cycle fairly quickly and you get much more notice of when they're available. You can get pretty close to 80 by simply cyclically spanking centaurs.

So your solution is instead of playing new characters, play new characters! and this will stop u getting burned out on ur characters til u get burned out on ur characters so u can play ur other characters to the end and get burned out on ur characters and then make more characters!
im mostly playing my main character but i sometimes play other characters but i haven't played my characters to 80 yet cos im having fun with my characters.
but i also do other things like not play with my characters when im playing another game's characters... now ill stop saying characters cos characters are are repetitive as well as other characters...
right im off to my other responsibilities...
EDIT: seriously though, do it the way you like doing it...

ORLY?

Killing game in this game pays off, considering that it counts towards your daily. So once the timer resents I load up my shotgun and get me some wildlife!
