And yet this is not ArenaNets fault. It is those idiotic players that buys gold.
There will ALWAYS be ways to farm and sell gold, as long as people are stupid enough to buy it.

But sure, feel free to assume that they are lying about everything if that makes you feel any better.

It is not Arena Net's fault, but it is their responsibility to take action that makes doing that kind of business more difficult and more costly. They are failing badly in that.

Aye, they are failing badly, that is the reason why I haven't seen a single Gold seller (either in the open or via mail) for about two weeks now.
Clearly all those just decided to stop selling, right?

Why assume they are lying? They have hired a new full team to handle bots, and clearly they are making progress (10 000+ bots in a week is quite much progress)

They SAY they are doing something, but the numbers say different.

Gold sellers prices are 4 TIMES better than legit prices. That's any awful lot of incentive to take the risk for someone who wants to buy gold. You'd never expect that A Net could actually beat gold sellers prices, but if they are doing enough to make it difficult for them to do business, then you'd expect the gap to be MUCH smaller.

Diablo 3 seems to be doing ok. Gold prices on the AH are around .50 per 1 million legit, and about .40 from gold sellers. Not much incentive to save a dime per million gold, and risk being banned. But in GW2, it's the difference of $19.50 per 10 gold legit (as of this posting) vs $4.46 per 10 gold from gold sellers (according to a quick google search).

Not that I necessarily disagree with you, but price comparisons are poor indicators. One way to look at the prices is that there's little risk of buying gold in D3 so the marginal discount is worth it for potential buyers while the greater risk for GW2 forces gold sellers to sell at a lower price. I say this because I'm sure gold sellers aren't basing their prices purely off of their own supply and the demand for it. They have to pay attention to other factors as well.

I hope they get on top of it.

I am on Isle of Janthir and in the last few days pretty much the only other players I see In frostgorge or cursed shore are bots.

Well looks like the bots are winning, as predicted.

Bots I reported weeks ago are still online in my freinds list.

All the crap Anet fed to you on their forum was rubbish, they are doing NOTHING.

Saw over a dozen Rangerbots wandering around Reaper's Corridor in Diessa Plateau less than half an hour ago, killing everything in sight - except they were avoiding getting too close to the trebuchet event that happens there, for some reason. :/

Ive seen noticeable progress in select spots i usually pass farming ori...  Where I used to see stacks of 20+ bots there are only 2-5....

Anet doesn't have to catch every bot to win the battle against gold sellers.... only make it costly enough for them where their prices can not compete with Anet's prices on gem to gold conversion... because there will always be those players that buy gold.

Sure it's part of Anet's fault they have known long before GW2 came out that RTM is an issues with these type of games and should've been more proactive than reactive from the start of coding GW2. Instead they now are scrambling hiring/training a whole new team just for bots detection and making bot detection tools. Plus not moving faster on bot reports when many of us seen the same bots over & over of several weeks+ in different zones or the huge conga line/s in WvWvW.

I've been playing some new characters in lower level zones, but has anyone seen obvious bots lately?   I haven't in the lvl 20s zones.

Anet has a big problem with handling bots, I got banned from the game 3 days ago and filed a support ticket and have heard nothing back from them.

When I try to log into the game I get this message:

"Your Guild Wars 2 account has been terminated due to botting, extended unattended play, using macros, or similar behavior.  Attempting to automate gameplay through any means or attempting to circumvent idle-time restrictions in any way is in violation of the User Agreement and Rules of Conduct.  The account closure is permanent (link to Rules of Conduct – User Agreement)"

I started playing GW1 in 2005 and linked that account  with my GW2 account and now I can only play GW1, I also have a HOM score of 40 points.  I am missing much this weekend and next week is along weekend for me I like to have my GW2 account back. How can you incorrectly ban people that just play the game the way it was intended?  No need to brag on Anet removing bots if they are going to hurt innocent player. They have 48 pages of banned accounts problems https://forum-en.gui...omments/page/48

Visiting other MMO sites, you'll quickly see this isn't a GW2 problem, or an Anet problem, it's an industry problem. Bots plague MMOs across the board. Especially if they're popular enough to make money off of botting.
Either that or people across the board are very quick to jump to "it's a bot" and are actually just bad at identifying bots.

I saw goldseller spam today and what may have been a few bots (wasn't in the mood to stop what I was doing to watch them) but overall it has been much better than it was.

The market clearly shows the did something to the old bots, but we all know bots are apart of MMO's. You cannot do anything about them, but ban them until they come back.

There's more bots and gold sellers than usual presumably because of the trial weekend event. They can just make more accounts to spam their gold selling messages.
