Ok, so I am slowly already acumulating the pre-legendary things needed to make my first legendary. However the reason i created this topic is find out what effects each of the equipable legendaries have. As a thief that means I could focus on either shortbow, dagger,sword, or pistol. I have seen what the dreamer (shortbow looks like) and its wonderful happy unicorn rainbow effects.
  So the question is...what things do the other thief equipable legendaries do? And also could you post pictures, or link them so that i know what the skins are for each of them?

  I figure i could find each individual one in seperate threads, however my goal is to assimilate a general knowledge of all the thief equipable ones into a single topic so that there is less looking around; and a more central place for the knowledge.

Do not make the dagger on a thief. The footsteps don't go away when you stealth. I'd wait until Anet fixes it first.

thats actually a good thing to know because i was going to work towards incenerator. Anything known about the pistol or sword?

You can watch youtube videos of just about every legendary weapon. The sword makes an annoying zapping sound everytime you swing and covers you in electricity. The dagger has flaming footsteps and flaming explosion on attack. The shortbow shoots homosexuality on each attack. The pistol is like a lazer pew pew sound.

All good reason to avoid legendaries for a Thief... no farming for me!

I would still get the incinerator. Yeah you leave flaming footsteps but I assure you that you don't see enough Incinerators in WvW where someone will see the footsteps and be like Oh! That must be a stealthed thief! If anything I'd think its the elementalist flame charge attack.

Yeah, I think I'll wait to see what future options we have.  I'm good without having any flashy effects on my thief.

Now if he cold use Sunrise, all bets would be off.

I was aiming for the sword. But honestly I cant seem to get the motivation for a legendary on a thief. If you are going to spend hours of farming you want to get the most use of the legendary. So, be reasonable to get a weapon you will always use. For a thief that is a Shortbow... problem here is for some reason its a damn rainbow.. Honestly wtf was anet thinking. So, I made a warrior and im farming for twilight cuz that 2h sword looks badass. Also... medium armor looks retarted in this game  imo. A cool weapon with ugly armor still makes for an ugly thief.

On another note I was contemplating on a sword for 2 reasons. I use S/p or S/d and the lighting might be cool but again, my armor looks like crap so i bailed.

Really? I've found quite a few medium armor sets I'm happy with. Different opinions I suppose. I really like the Honor of the Waves armor set... but finding people who actually -want- to run that in my guild would be tricky.

I was aiming for incinerator, but god, its so small i dont know if i want fire on my weapons, also stealthed footprints is like retarded. Also anet is nerfing d/d sooner or later so yeah.

Bolt is another option but i just cant seem to get into the sword action in WvW, you miss alot of burst, the constant dps is amazing and aoe and the bolt looks sick imo.

Shortbow, just no. I would get SB for sure if it was another thing other than a freaking unicorn shooting rainbows.

I played P/P set and honestly is a bad set, it has nice carry dps on small-medium wvw groups but as a roamer it totally blows. Also the legendary pistol is another troll weapon which looks totally retarded.

So im just gonna wait for Anet to give Thieves the option to use a rifle and ill get the predator.

To each their own, I guess. Personally I think the Dreamer and the Quip are the best legendary skins for thief hands down, they're just so... fun! I think its bloody awesome that ANET put skins like these in the game!

Honest opinion; Spend your money on something worthwhile. The whole "farm a legendary" crap is such a fad right now. And all of them are either ridiculous or plain old ugly. Besides, in a while, everyone will have them, nothing special or legendary about them.

And even if you change to a heavy class; Vision of the Mists is easily the best looking 2 hander. * dat twilight sheeeet. And it's only like 80g to craft.

Bolt's sound got fixed, 100% sure as I have it.  I am happy with the choice.  The sword looks amazing and the footsteps aren't so blatant that its like a *stealthed thief here* sign.
