Can anyone explain to me why the recipe for upgrading cores into lodestones from basically everywhere on the net, including the wiki (i.e.

doesn't work and what the actual one is or is there some other prerequisite that makes me personally unable to do it?

are you using 2 charged cores or 1? the recipe requires 2.

I just did the charged lodestone recipe. Worked fine. 2 cores 1 wine 1 crystal 1 dust

So how rare the types of loadstones? Are all of then equal in rarity, or is there one type wich has a much better drop rate if compared to the rest?

as far as I know they all have the same drop rate.  the difference is the mobs that drop some of them are in some cases just about non-existent.  Charged lodestones drop from CoE and 1 type of mob in orr, while running around frostgorge any icebrood or svanir has a chance to drop a corrupted lodestone.  Destroyer lodestones I've only ever seen come out of chests in SE, never seen one at megadestroyer.  Onyx are like charged, there is a specific mob in orr that drops them and TA, that's it.

I farmed Charged and Onyx Lodestone for a long time, but the last half of november, the price had dropped and i began to farm Powerful Blood at Southsun Cove. Since then, the powerful blood prices also dropped. Now the price of the two is high and after doing a lot of fractal i think i'm gonna return farming a little.

Usually with 100%+ MF I got 1 Lodestone per hour (plus some scrap that i can sell for about 75s and 1 gold). Its an average, something I got none and other time i got 2-3 in the hour of farming. But in the long run, its pretty much 1 per hour.

Fractals - Drops any core or lodestone from end chests, doing daily's up to lvl 30 can make this very profitable with a good group/guild
Dungeons - Specific dungeon drop specific core/lodestone sets.  Multiple chests per path can sometimes make this even more profitable than Fractals if you end up getting more cores to transmute into lodestones.  Doing paths multiple times per day net you less and less tokens, but are very fast and can be done for full reward on different characters.
Mobs - Very specific enemies drop one type of lodestone each.  78+ for lodestones(Sparks in Malchor's only specific mob for <80), 65ish+ for cores.
Orrian Jewelry Boxes - Current drop research into O.J. Boxes make this the least likely of ways to garner you lodestones, but if you need to transfer Karma, that .10% chance might net you something. http://wiki.guildwar...y_Box/Drop_rate

I say them in that order because that's the order of likelihood I've seen in which I've gotten lodestones.  I don't farm dungeon paths or do anything in Cursed other than the DE chains, so my list is probably in the wrong order for others.  I'm not a grinder or a min/maxxer by any means, so I usually do everything except high-level fractals and the odd dungeon, if I think the group needs more support, in all MF gear with 130% MF incl nourishment.  Blast me if you will, but I've had great success in MF gear and I swear by it.

Edit: changed mob level for Sparks to 78+

Sparks from Malchor's Leap drop Charged Lodestones, and they are level 78-79.

Elementals in ML and CS are present when the Pact is in control of the associated temple and the statues of that god are deactivated. So, if the Temple of Melandru is not contested, then the earth eles will spawn near the statue west of Pagga's. All you need to do is check the world map and see if the statue is yellow (active, so risen are there) or gray (inactive, so elementals are there).

Right.  I stand corrected.  80ish.  Though I'm not sure exactly the lower spectrum of the lodestone range in levels; the only one specifically mentioned are the sparks in Malchor's, so I guess 78+ is correct afaik.  I'll edit my original post to reflect that.  Thanks Krushchev.
