How about a hat storage system?

In GW1, there was this awesome hat storage system where we would 'show' our special hat to the NPC and it would register the hat your account and you can create as many as you needed for any character on your account. I dunno about you, but I made it a point to collect all the hats I could because... Well, I like novelty stuff.
Can we haz that again for GW2? xD

See it’s a double edge sword. I don’t buy that stuff simple because it wastes inventory space. If I had the space I might be more inclined to buy the hats and out fits, but I’m not going to buy more storage just for them.

If we get a huge amount of hats then we'll certainly be in luck, methinks!

Sadly it took Anet many years before they introduced such npc... many hats were lost already because players needed room in their vaults, etc. I hope Anet will be quicker this time
Edit: same thing goes for town cloths ofcourse (GW1 has a different npc for that).

You're right. Now you can grind for gold for hours on end in exchange for a small amount of gems. It's not like you need that gold for fast travelling, repairs, crafting, etc. ArenaNet knows this, and that's why they have the cash option - it's more convenient for the 'gimme gimme now' player.
Not including a hat storage of some sort is inexcusable on ArenaNet's part. No one can defend this exclusion. The option was done very well in the first game and should have migrated over to the sequel, but alas, all we have are storage panes.
I wonder why ArenaNet left the hat storage out...oh, wait...it's because they wanted us to buy more storage panes with real money or gold. And hey, I'm not against companies making a buck, I just find it odd that ArenaNet wouldn't give us some kind of storage for hats after having already created the option in the first game.

Of course it's more convienient, that's why the game shop is described as containing aestetic and convienience items and the gem exchange is described as time-money exchange. If you hadn't noticed there is still an event going on that inflated the gem exchange rate.
Three character slots and four bank tabs later I'd say the gem trade is advantageous. As with most of these complaints it isn't an issue if you plan to play the game. You want the "how to make money" threads instead of making up conspiracy theories, but then again addressing a problem with the tools at hand is apparently far less productive then complaining about it.

There's no conspiracy theory - just the obvious.
There's two possibilities:
1: They want people to buy storage panes. (And if so, why? Gold sink? Cash grab?)
2: They haven't included the hat maker yet but have plans to do so at a later date. (Again, why? They knew holidays were coming. And I'm sure it's not too difficult to make this feature available.)
That's the bottom line.

"There's no conspiracy theory - just the obvious conspiracy theory". It's hard to take one seriously when they deny making conspiracy theories then list two more right below.
Guild halls weren't added at launch. The "physically complete" Tengu city was not added at launch. There's a long list of things that weren't added at launch and this is what you choose as the rabble-rousing issue? Yes, nothing is "too difficult to make", anything in the game takes 5 minutes and three lines of code and there are no priority lists. In the real world there are tons of more pressing issues, especially when there are a maximum of four hats at this point. Four storage panes do not require an entire bank tab, unless you're telling me you have 30 hats to store, which makes no sense because they are account bound and not soul bound. Furthermore, if you like a hat wear it, now it takes 0 storage slots or inventory slots. Hat crafters or collectible tabs or another solution are in the works, at this point they're not done because they are such a low priority. Your two scenarios are both rather weak arguments to begin with, then factor in they're unrealistic.
People always want more immediately when they have no idea what is going on.
That's the bottom line.

Perfect. I don't like having to explain the explicit meaning of a person's own words to them, nor do I enjoy having define simple words for people again and again, unless of course you have concrete evidence of your conspiratorial claims (again, using the actual English definition of the term "conspiracy theory").
But the more obvious answer is that you realized you have no counterargument and will just have to be patient like the rest of us for such an obvious addition, which weren't added to GW1 for over two years.

I knwo people will say just buy more storage but you could do that in GW1 and they still had the hat guy so if it worked there then have it here.

Perhaps a 1 gem cost to recreate free stuff and no-cost to retrieve items from the gem store that were paid for?
