its called magmaton, random (with no known recipe as of now) in mystic forge or its on the TP.
but overall I do agree that there is a distinct lack of hammers of this size in the game.

A real warhammer should look like this...

Am I the only one who prefers realistic, medieval influenced aesthetics for weapons and armour?

Maybe some of them will make a comeback when we get to travel to other continents?

for swords, daggers, axes, and bows I agree. The greatswords in this game are especially horrid...the basic longsword skin is better than 99% of the exotics, and don't even get me started on the zweihander. I just like that hammer because of GW1 nostalgia really, its magma's arm from GW1 (one of the rarer game skins).
it is a fantasy game though and stupid shiny stuff (read: "night sky" greatsword, unicorn shortbow...all of the "legendaries" in this game) is appealing to many players for whatever reason.

Screw the hammer. I want that outfit.

No, I prefer realistic-looking stuff, too. You know, armor that actually covers your vitals and weapons that you could actually fight with and whatnot. However, there are two reasons they tend not to happen: 1) A lot of players like the exaggerated "Buick-on-a-telephone-pole" thing, and 2) the game developers spend a lot of time making cool-looking stuff that you'd never, ever see if it were on a realistically-sized weapon. Only so much detail you can put on a dagger that ends up being a quarter inch long on your screen.

For asura, slyvari, and humans the smaller heads make sense since those races are smaller and physically couldn't wield a hammer with a overly heavy head and have it remain a viable weapon (ignoring this is a fantasy game and certain liberties can be taken). For norn and charr, however, not having large heads strikes me as odd. Both have a lot of upper body strength and could wield far larger heads than the other races and not be hampered by it. Heck, larger heads could possibly even be preferable since while they might be a bit slower than small-headed hammers, the force would be able to crush armour and shatter bones so very easily.
I don't think Arenanet should remove the small hammer skins or not add any more, but as a hammer warrior it would be nice if there was more variety and options for using larger hammers. It just strikes me as sad when some maces have larger heads than many of the hammers.

I agree too. I prefer the basic, more realistic skins.
Great for me because I can just buy them for a few coppers and transmute to my exotics

This one came from one of the earlier personal story quests that take place in Fort Trinity (so somewhere in the neighborhood of L70). The decoration is a bit on the ostentatious side for a combat weapon, but the design itself is pretty close to a standard claymore. Yeah, it's a bit big, but you have to see the detail, yadda-yadda-yadda. Still, one of the best GS designs I've seen in game.
Plus it matches my outfit. Now I can, like, totally be seen in public with it.

This argument wouldn't hold as one could simply redirect you to the Greatswords. Anyway, yea, Hammer sizes are lacking in size and makes them feel puny.
