The rest of Tyria is still covered so we have tons of new contents ahead.

If they stick to it for long enough, we might actually see a festival and general update every two months with each type running every other month. October had Halloween and December will have Wintersday. If they retain the Canthan holidays, then we'll see the Canthan New Year (bring back racing!) around Februrary and the Dragon Festival in July. August will have anniversary celebrations, which leaves only April open. That's when GW usually has their anniversary celebration, so perhaps they'll go for some sort of spill-off or make up their own holiday for the month.
I'm disappointed by the notion that the Lion of LA has disappeared. I didn't spend too much time gawking at it, but it definitely felt like a centerpiece of the city.

I immediately thought of this as well. I'm assuming it will just be a cinematic though. I'm too excited for this.
I hope its a HUGE update. With new personal quests or something. (I wonder how they would incorporate that?) I have a feeling they will just open up a new zone and dungeon. Which is fine too.

It's a shame really.
My guess: Those "4000 frames of animation" were causing too much lag.

I'm not sure if this is cooincidence because of the holiday events they have to keep up with, but I also noticed the December 2012 coming soon at the top. We would have a content update in october, november and december for sure. Do you think we're going to have something every month? I mean they do have a large staff now
December 2012 will be another holiday event, Wintersday.
I doubt we'll be getting new content every month. Maybe we'll start getting weekend events like GW1 (in the case of GW2 it might be double PvP points, karma, badges of honor in WvW, maybe even double XP). We didn't get anything new in September, we've always known they were doing Halloween because Anet did it for GW1, November may be just to show that they were serious when they said we'd be getting free content updates every once in a while, and December will be Wintersday as all GW1 players have known. Unless we see new content in January (there were never any special events exclusive to January in GW1) and maybe Canthan New Year in February (which would require access to Cantha before then otherwise it won't make sense, unless Tyria for whatever reason has a large population of Canthans) we can't assume we're getting monthly content.

I highly doubt this is going to be the only one-time event they do. The interview mentioned having similar expansions there are people who missed the first Halloween event, and there will be people who miss the first wintersday. If it ends up being a cinematic like the the mad kings arrival, people will youtube it and those that miss it will watch it there, not as fun but they get to see it. What will be annoying is if this is a large scale one-time dynamic event chain over the course of the weekend.

I'm all for less lag in Lions Arch!
Although, Hosting an entire holiday event with ton of new animations and stuff in it didn't really contribute to less lag. But still.. We shall see.
On a side note.. There are no Lions in Lions arch anymore. Except the ones from Old Lions Arch, but only the Quaggan see those on a regular basis. So it doesn't count.

Now people will get spoiled and then whine about them not delivering if they don't keep up massive updates each month.
I for one will be happy for whatever I get, but people will whine, hate and complain, just as always.

Well the tengu cloths and some names kinda looks like Japanese to me, so the Tengu architecture might be east asian style as well? I hope it is so

Somewhere in the Colin Jonson interview he said:
They'll have recurring stories that build out over time and tell stories that occur across the world and change the course of the world over many months - some might be smaller than Halloween, some might take many months
This give me the impression that new stories and content could be drip feed into the mainstream environment.

Beta version of a new sPvP map for people to test and give feedback on, if people like it they'll add it to the permanent PvP rotation

Weekend long event that permanently changes the world in some places and opens up a new island that people can explore - small map with a lot of fun stuff and a storyline across the weekend that changes the world

Brand new type of dungeon to be added - gets harder the further you get in, really big with a ton of levels

New rewards to the game that are buried deep within the new dungeon
How big will the new island be in November and what will be its setting or theme?

It's not a full-sized map, it's a place where they want the storyline to play out

It will stay behind after the weekend with new content

Not intended as a big end-game expansion

Live team will add more and more content to the island later down the road

Will have new rewards that you can't get anywhere else in the game

Theme-wise - have to wait and see
From the Interview with Colin Johansen.
So, please don't expect TOO much. I guess the content added will be around the same as the halloween update. He specifically said that it is a small island and that it's main purpose is the storyline. The main thing we know about being permanently on the island is the new dungeon, I wouldn't expect too many DE's otherwise. They will be added with future updates by the live team.
I already see comments from people expecting a completely new map or something like that. He also said it is NOT a full fledged endgame-centered update.

Also, selling part of my soul for playable tengu! If not in November (would be a little early, no?) then in the near future... hopefully the November update will hold the possibilities like have a Tengu "capital" and starting zone for later... What? A girl can dream/hope QQ

As for the Tengu-Canthan-ness all non-human races where kicked out of Cantha so its only normal for the Tengu to show the Japaneseness of the Canhan Tengu.

There is an NPC on the spot of the LA fountain for people who lost power due to Hurricane Sandy so they can get the party achievement. I think he will be there until the 15th. Maybe the fountain will return then.
Anyway people need to get a grip. Like dazza said if you expect too much of this the forum whining afterword will be painful.

Thank you to the people talking about playable tengu. I haven't laughed so hard in a while. I hope you don't honestly think that is going to happen. Three months after the game is released. Really? You can't possibly.

The shores are basically Tengu territory, no? Tengu walls/npcs around the wall to the north and west (and LA)... I'd sell part of my soul for playable tengu!
If it's the area that I think it is (the island whose easternmost edge is explorable in Sparkfly Fen - there's a blocked path leading to the depths of the island near the Tower of Modius), then it's probably going to be quaggan, krait, hylek, and maybe largos territory. Tengu don't move beyond their walls, and this island is southeast of the Dominion of Winds. Also, I'd expect a lot of Risen as well. :/
It's highly unlikely the tengu will become playable so soon. I do believe they will be a playable race, however, along with the largos. :3

More like Orrian. Those arches remind me of the pillars of the Cathedral of Eternal Radiance. Besides, Sparkfly Fen already holds numerous Orrian ruins and it is directly east of the island. So it's very possible they had settlements deeper in the island as well.
As to what I expect: a champion of the Deep Sea Dragon, hopefully its name revealed, and/or a Leviathan appearing at long last - the sea creature from the end of the Manifesto trailer.
