Hi guys, I just saw someone in my guild got achievement points over 5000 pts+ and I dont know is it a bug or something like it ? Because imo getting 5000 achievement points at the moment is impossible... If it's not a bug so anyone can give tips to get it ? I am trying to work hard on achievement point and only got 3000 points+ so far since the game release just about 2 months. If it's bugged pls ArenaNet fix it asap to encourage ppls. Please someone confirm this is not a bug...

I don't think it is impossible really. Someone already posted having crossed 10k points. It is fairly easy if u just go on salvaging mats indefinitely xD

I think the easiest way to get achievement points right now is from salvaging. You can buy hundreds/thousands of salvageable material off of the auction house, break an entire stack in one click, and then resell all the materials you get out of it.

You can't break one stack in one click, you need to double click the salvage kit, then double click the material and if it is rare, a confirmation window will pop up.

I have salvaged over 2 thousand weapons for ectos, and dozens of thousands of scraps for jute. I got 1200 achievement points. I also got the map fully explored, and all jumping puzzles. 1200 achievement points.

The guy most likely has a even more miserable social life than you. With 3k points I would consider the person to be camping the computer 24/7, but 5k points... it is just sad, really. The game doesn't even reward you for doing that. Probably soon the poor guy will post a reddit topic "world first 5k achievement HUR DUR".

The hell... what's with that personal attack? Take a vicodin or something and calm down. Sheesh. Btw, I haven't done half the things you claim to have done (75% world completion, 25 jumping puzzles, 400 salvages) and I have like 2.4k achievement points...

On topic: The easiest way by far is to salvage whites that you can buy off the trading post for like 20c each. There's also doing the personal story to level 20 for each race, getting 3 characters through each of the order storylines and of course, world explorer.

As I said before, someone already posted here that they got over 10k points, like 4-5 days back. You don't need to salvage rares and stuff. You can just buy those cheap rags, crude salvage kits n go on salvaging them till you go up in points. That's what I do if I don't reach my monthly achievement before it resets. Usually  I fall short of 25-30 salvages, so I just buy a few of these rags on TP, salvage them and collect my rewards.

Just to throw it out there, but there is somewhat of an exploit you can do to keep getting points over and over. It doesn't cost money, and according to the points you get per tier, the one I know of, offers more points per completion.

Won't go into the details of it, I just gave it a little test just now to make sure I was 100% right.
The points are just trivial, so it meh to begin with.

I'm sure if someone else who knew about the point exploit and was crazed enough to want to have 10k+ points to surpass that other guy, he could create a macro script to rerun run through the process of getting points continuously.

Oh not saying that the OP guild member used the exploit or such. Just throwing out some knowledge about it.

You should probably report it if you know about it. As trivial as achievement points may be, an exploit is an exploit and something like that takes the achievement out of it :P

Afaik there is a hidden achievement like "hobby transmuter" which gains you infinite points in a same way the salvage one does. If you have hom points, you can use the hom skins for infinite transmuting without any cost at all. This of course makes achievement points meaningless since they are so easy to get by just clicking your mouse for transmutes all day.

2.5k points here, and only played hardcore in weekends & hollidays.. And ever heard of software for your mouse? You can configure it when you click once it auto clicks multiple times.

2000 points here, not got the world fully explored and done like 4 jump puzzles. Also, you've salvaged over 2000 weapons? How long did you camp your computer to get those? Or was business in China good to you?

So they had a meaning before?
I mean it's hard work to transmute all day just to get... nothing.

That's borderline botting. Automation of any action in game without direct input is botting.

Point number 20.
  • You may not use any third-party program (such as a “bot”) in order to automate gameplay functions, including playing, chatting, interacting, or gathering gold or items within Guild Wars 2. You may not assist, relay, or store gold or items for other players who are using these processes.

It's not botting because it's not automated, the input for the action is still human.

I guess its possible to have that much.  Most people that have played every day since launch and done a lot of the jumping puzzles, wvw, dungeons, etc.  could have around 2.5k~ easily.

Assuming maybe this person has full HoM and played a lot every day its possible.  But it does seem like a pretty big jump in points.

Erm, there is no in-built game action to do "multiple-clicks" for you. If there is please do tell me.
If not you are automating the multiple clicks portion.
