So I have started playing the game not to long ago. I started with a Mesmer because it seemed a very fun profession to play. I found that it was too slow of a profession for me (with killing and casting cooldowns) and switched to an Elementalist. I enjoy my elementalist but personally I enjoy playing as dagger/dagger and i find the trouble with the Elementalist is that I enjoy soloing but I also enjoy going to dungeons a lot. I love to play as a support type class that can do some good dps. I know this still seems to lean towards the elementalist but I just thought I would ask everyone's opinion on this. I am mainly looking for a class that is wanted in dungeons and that is capable of soloing fairly well. Any opinions on this matter (sorry for the rambling its really late here). Thank you

Try guardian. They're an easy-to-solo class that has huge dungeon utility.

Guardian is good, they seem to have some of the most versatile party support abilities. I would say though that Ele can be exceedingly useful in some dungeon situations as well as a support party member, as you said. Another profession that has some interesting support abilities is the Warrior, between its shouts and banners, they can help out quite a bit as well.

The only two professions that lack extensive support options are the thief and ranger. All the others have quite effective support builds that can make a big difference in dungeons (and realistically support options are the only thing that will make a specific profession desirable over another).

The top picks are probably guardian, ele, engineer and warrior though. Necro is being held back by an insane amount of bugs that ANet seems to have forgotten about and the mesmer offers very situational support (though it is incredible in the situations that it is useful).

Since you also want a strong solo profession though I'd advise against ele. They're arguably the weakest soloing profession in the game right now; they snap like a twig and are forced to build defensively as their offensive options simply don't offset it through kill speed.

I can't think of a Profession that isn't both of these.
