First of all, following post has no intention to insult anyone, it's not made in any ill manner.
I've been playing thief since the first day, currently ranking lvl 30 on Desolation EU as a member of core tournament group in my guild. (H.O.P.E - harbringers of peace)
1."Hmm, this looks interesting." - looks at the post title.
2.Looks at the intro screen on youtube.
3.Notices - Rank 11 ; "MY BUILD!(srsly, your build?!) ; missing additional 5 pts for increased initiative in Trickery (essentially means if you miss 1-2 C'n'D you cant burst, get initiative starved quickly.) ; notices, you dont adapt to ini regain via Roll for initiative just in case you get denied on your opener ; notices you dont pre-cast C'n'D to steal -.-' (at least you should be able to do that on target dummies.)
4.Using shadowstep to advance to the target - usually a bad move unless ur confident that you are going to kill the target. Try using that to cure conditions or as a evasive manuver only. Shadowstep has an opening application true, but much more usefull to get out of combat or to cure conditions.
5.I'm curious how do you use Shadow Refuge - do you use it as an escape mechanic, or rather use it to ensure next backstab?
6.Have you played any tournaments so far?
7. build reccomendation - you might find usefull to reinvest 5 points from first trait tree to Trickery for that exstra static initiative. also if you get into clutch position it might be wise to save steal for initiative regain. For example, not opening with steal rather open with shadow refuge for that long stealth into fully gimped backstab and save steal for teamfight - prioritizing the target that is positioned outside AoE killzone.
8.Elite skill - using daggerstorm is good against ranged opponents and to apply area cripple. Try using Thieves guild, the have much more dueling potential and utility due to smokescreen and scorpion wire your elite provides. Not to mention that thieves using power crit build hit really hard.
9. In teamplay use "call target" function after you scout their resiliance in combat. Call target on the squishiest target to inform your team of your focus (Most of the time, if your party sees your calling target they will insta-jump on it, effective way of reducing their numbers in teamfights.
10. Use Shortbow to "soften" the targets before engaging on them. Cluster Bomb is an amazing skill! dont disperse it. (get on the ledge when teamfighting, the AoE of the SB and the clusterbomb paired with Fire sigil will make up for some amazing teamfighting presence, not to mention amazing Disabling Shot that will get you out of some very hairy situations. (You see a warrior rushing to you, you know he's gonna try to combo you - use disabling shot to evade and cripple him.)
- There is alot more to mantion, and if you find yourself in need of a few more tips n tricks. hook me up at Desolation EU - Ace of Hidden Mist
Cheers!
