My appologies to Yaks and FA, this is yet another unbalanced match brought to you by Anets shitty ranking system and guild alliances that cant handle drama, btw it will be the same next week when you face HoD. best of luck, I hope you like fighting each other or get ready for a boring week filled with a bunch of PvE.

FA losing primetime lead because of 0 night population.

FA 10976 +240
Y 10364 +345
ET 3675 +110

Just lost fully upgraded hills on Y BL to 4 golems. We only had 6 defenders. LOL. GF to [BS] all night.

was pretty even all night really.

a lot of back and forth between Yaks and FA.  I was pulling my hair out all night cursing many a Fort Aspenwood player.  really good pvp all.

.. to all the ET players.. sorry Anet won't just fix this issue for you guys.

Whelp... that appears to be that in this battle, lol. Don't get me wrong, I love a great challenge, and me and my guild had loads of fun holding off YB at SMC just now. But even having inner keep loaded with superior carts and ballistas, there was just no holding the gigantic zerg Yak's Bend mounted against us. I'm proud for having held them off as long as we did, but once again it appears we're up against a server that far outnumbers us in WvW. I'll still keep fighting, but it does get a little frustrating sometimes to see such great inbalance more often than not (Blackgate, then TC, then 1 week reprieve and now YB). ET doesn't appear to be able to hold much either, for understandable reasons. I don't know what Anet can do about this, but it sucks to see fellow soldiers on the server get discouraged and stop WvW-ing because zergs will just steamroll through anything they manage to put up.

Yaks wins in overnight presence. Game over already it seems. Guess FA is gonna be that awkward 10th server that dominates T4 but gets dominated in T3. Was kinda funny getting crashed from behind against a 2nd yaks zerg. Took us all by surprise!

Congrats on the win Yaks Bend.

I underestimated your oceanic #'s seeing as how you were T5-6 for so long.

FA is one the most lobsided servers in terms of NA vs Oceanic strength.

The oceanic numbers on YB have surprised me the past couple of weeks. Further back than that we would have been lucky to rustle up 20 people on one or two maps at most. I don't know if this first night was because of NA people staying up late or because we have picked up transfers but we weren't short of company. Anyone in the know care to spill?

Yaks bend is currently dominating, since a lot of people are on this time, but I think FA are slowly coming back.
Scores:
Yak's Bend 29292
Fort Aspenwood 15552
Eredon Terrace 5623

YB +660
DA +25
ET +10

Really, wow, Yak's starts losing everytihng for the next 10 hours, you never know. Anyway, I wouldn't really want to win this week because Yak's Bend will be back up against CD and we know we cannot take them on, as to our loss last week, 200k - 290k.
Good luck Fort Aspenwood anyways, hope you can come back to keep the week even!

its the history of our server. When the PUG's wake up and see the score difference they will shrug and go back to pve. We have gone through this week after week after week. Our NA group is as good as anyones, but as soon as we go to sleep its game over.

Oh, thats sad. Yak's bend gave up when SoR started dominating us a few days in a row, its a commen thing. Better luck next week. We'll probably go up too much next week and get crushed by CD anyway so don't worry too much.

More room in WvW for those who actually care. Last week was terrible; massive zergs, map chat trolling, no strategy. I look forward to playing with those who haven't already given up.

As do i, but fighting an out manned and losing war is not very fun. The moment we take a couple points it will be zerg city against us.

Meh we were fighting off both zergs in ET bg last night and still managed to hold our own.... everytime i see us stomp day 1 prime time it feels like a win... then the aussies and euro trash kill the presence we have. Oh well, at least there aren't any  orbs so i'll keep farming your prime time bads.

If you are going to lose off hours and can't do anything about it, then just don't worry about the final scoreboard. People get too caught up in that. Last week, we lost off hours to CD, but played them even, or even bettered them plenty in NA primetime, and what mattered to the people playing then was the quality of their time while on. Not like anyone has to give up the week just because one time coverage is a loss. Though I can understand why those that have to play at those disadvantaged hours would not want to come out.

But you're still forgetting that 90% of people in the game are PvE players that only want to WIN. They could give two shits about the competition. They don't want the competition, they don't want a challenge, they just want the win+epix. WoW taught a whole generation of kids that even if you lose you can still has epix! You don't need to PvP for cool PvP gear, nah just trade in your 5 man gear for it so you never have to worry about "dying" in a virtual world. That's just how the world is. I mean I've watched soccer games where the losing crowd have nearly killed (and may have killed) people and burnt down the whole stadium because they lost. That rage and anger manifests itself even for gamers and sure losing sucks but how you deal with the loss is what helps define you as a person.

I've said it before, but if they really want to help throw people into World vs World, they really need to bump up the rewards for the PvE crowd. They're players that want loot and will beat their heads against a virtual raid boss for weeks on end to get at the shiney purples inside. Here, there's just no reason to do it. The Badge system is crap, the gear has crap stats and looks like shit and there's only 1 set to buy at all. Yet in sPvP you can buy hundreds of pieces of armor and weapons and a lot of it looks amazing! Why the hell A-net didn't put in hundreds of DIFFERENT armor and weapons into World vs World and make the small events like capturing a tower or supply camp much more lucrative in terms of reward I can't understand. It's as if A-net said "yeah well, screw World vs World, eventually players will get so bored of it they'll stop going and we can finally focus just on sPvP." They've had all these years to get this shit right, and I hope they have some serious overhauling plans to put something worth a damn into World vs World. I enjoy it as it is, but I have little reason to beat myself to death fighting 1v50 or taking a supply camp for 2 minutes and getting almost nothing at all out of it.

Sorry for the rant, but, I really hate this lose, lose, zerg win, lose, lose shit FA goes through all the damn time (and I"m sure others as well). Was thinking of going to Jade Quarry, it always seems that servers that are 1, 2, and 3 are always neck and neck with each other. The battles must be awesome even if the que were an hour long, at least there would be something to do non stop once you got in.

Even if our chances are slim to none and the attitude of the pugs is to give up as soon as we start losing, I never feel that all is lost. YB seems to have similar big numbers as TC, yet it looks like we're doing better than we did against TC. There's a lot of loners without WvW guilds fighting, and if a bunch of them get together WITH a WvW guild, great things can happen, HAVE happened. The WvW guilds on FA have to keep pushing to get the dedicated players in their guilds, so that no one will ever feel like they're literally standing alone. Better coordination = better results = more PvE-ers will be likely to stick around and get into WvW. That's the snowball effect I'm hoping for, it may never happen, but all the same I am not leaving my server just because right now we can't compete with the best due to our coverage. I refuse to become part of the many bandwagon guilds who left their old servers to rot because they didn't feel like putting forth effort into making a longterm difference.

On that note, you may beat us YB, but we'll give it everything we've got to make sure you'll get nothing for free. See ya on the battlefield!

Not to get too far off topic, but I agree with the point about the lack of things to get with badges. sPVP and Dungeon running offers so much more variety. Sitting with 1000+ badges and nothing to buy with them (not worth wasting on siege vs gold).

They might also employ some kind of WvW ranks, that while shouldn't make you more powerful, help you get better cosmetic gear, more highly desired titles, or something.

These things might blunt the "oh we're going to lose this week, I'm done." attitude.

you should have logged in, you obviously missed a good fight.  i assume you missed it because apparently you have no idea what went on in the fight.  FA didn't "stomp day 1 prime time" by any stretch of the imagination.

you were holding your own fighting ET and us?  guess what. we were doing the same thing fighting ET off north EH and your guys at GB.

FA and Yaks were neck and neck all through prime time.. there was some yoyo and FA may have had a small lead on the scoreboard but neither server "stomped" the other one.  Yaks is a strong prime time server.  that "we beat you in prime time friday night" line may work against CD but not here.

We shit on your zerg so many times it wasn't even funny. The only thing YB did all night was continue to bang their head against a wall failing to double team. I was impressed by foo though.

http://mos.millenium...servers/view/39

i guess we just interpret the data differently.  i see here what i saw last night.  two servers who were pretty much even all night during prime time.

it always looks different from each side though.  many yaks would claim to have "shat on" your zerg as well.  although most wouldn't claim it publicly and in such a rude manner.  i guess my point is, there was much crapping on each other all around.  if FA had just been dumping on Yaks all night without any reciprocation the score would not have been so close.

Attention all Fort Aspenwood self-crowned "WvW heroes" from last week: dry your tears and start queuing up for WvW. It's annoying not being able to do anything one week since we have a mega zerg taking everything and then logging in the next week and having the outmanned buff in 2 of 4 zones on a Saturday. We all have these illusions of grandeur and the minute we fall behind we get so sensitive about the score we spend all our time being forum warriors trying to make excuses for being behind. Yak's bend is a great server period.

Our NA crew is of Tier 3 quality. For the numbers we have I think that's amazing and so should you. An EU/Oceanic presence will help us compete in Tier 3 (maybe even Tier 2) but we will never be able to compete if we keep quitting so easily. Yes I understand it is a problem on all servers, but since we seem to think we're so much better than everyone else let's prove it by ACTUALLY SHOWING UP.

I'm not trying to insult any of the WvW players on FA, I love playing with you guys and if I thought you weren't top notch players I would have gone to another server, but this is starting to get a little crazy. Yaks and ET want a fight so lets give it to them.

FA does not merely have a numbers problem, but a strategic and coordinative issue.  The amount of times there are no defenses at all at supply camps, not even a scout or something to make sure that you know when someone is coming, means that every single time you will lose that camp to a single thief.

The amount of FA'ers who refuse to use siege, either deploying or actually using it, against enemies and instead run up and smack them with their fists is staggering.  I watched Yaks catapulting a tower from a nearby hill, that tower had two trebuchets, catapult and four arrow carts in it.  The catapult and two trebuchets were well within striking range of the enemy but nobody wanted to use them, they wanted to keep throwing their bodies at the yakwall instead.

It made me cry it did :(
