Problem (grey parts that shouldn't be here):


I got this problem only with sylvary armor. I'm playing on reasonable graphical settings (almost lowest). I never had any graphical problems before.

It's really strange because all the dye colors are actually being filled in. It's really messed up so I don't know what to make of it. It looks like the green parts are filling up spots that it shouldn't fill in. I compared it with my brothers armor.
My brother has the same armor and an extremely good graphic card. He plays on highest graphics, has the same armor as me and no problems. So I logged in with my account on his computer. The bugg was there too. Exactly the same problems/apearance.

This is only the problem with sylvary armor.
However, I could preview sylvary armor before without these problems. Now that I bought it, previewing shows the same problem anytime.
I found my town clothes sylvary armor weird looking with too many grey parts, but since I never wear town clothes, It never bothered me.

So, anyone else had this problem? I first though that something on my computer was not compatible with the gw2 client. Or that my gw2 client was corrupted. But since it has the same problem on my brothers pc, only with my account, it looks like this is a server side problem...

Is your sylvari's skin white?  I think I recall that the cultural armors are actually growing out of the sylvari, so the skin color bleeds onto the armor set.

Yes, I though that too. My skin is indeed white. But since you can't even see the skin, and the result looks just so uggly and unnatural, I though that this couldn't be the problem. I will try to look up an official confirmation of your statement. Thanks

Have you tried adjusting video settings to see if one particular setting appears to be the culprit? In particular, try setting textures and shaders (individually) to high and see if it makes any difference to this issue.

It is your skintone that defines it. Try creating a new sylvari, choose the guardian class, and look at the characters skintone, and then the colour of the armor markings as those seen on your character. You'll see that your skin defines which colour that spot is. hope this helps

Your sylvari's skintone does indeed affect your armor. My sylvari has white skin and uses t1 cultural light armor with some of the armor being dark grey even if I dye it all a bright blue. Comparing it with some Sylvari NPCs with the same armor but a different skin colour pretty much proves it

I have the same problem on my brothers pc, while he has no problem on his account. The video settings are being saved on the client side. So I used the exact same shading as my brother. So this can't be the problem

Ok, thanks everyone. Seems like this is indeed because of the skin colour. Really stupid visual idea if you ask me. Horribly implemented too.

I have noticed a "bleed-thru" on one of the leather (medium armor) vests. On the right side of the character the leggings 'bleed-thru' the vest. Sorry I do not remember which one (coat on description) it is. But it is a Vest look (no sleeves) and a pouch on the right side??. It is also very distracting when my Ranger wore that.

Don't know if this has any bearing on this question - but it was not a graphic setting on my pc.

Personally, I love the bleed through. It makes it more realistic to the theme of what they wanted. Sylvari don't just put on armor, they grow armor. That's pretty fun xD I don't really see myself dying my sylvari's armor something contrasting to her base colour scheme anyway so it doesn't really bother me.

Do you have a screen shot? Are you a sylvari? What exact medium armor is it appearing with?

I have a problem with an armor set of mine reacting oddly, I use the SE Light Boots, dyed abyssal on my mesmer, but, whenever I swim upon leaving the water part of the boots have lost the dye and gone white, what makes it even stranger is the parts that change colour arent one of the individual dye-able areas on them, if you get what I mean, I filed a bug report on this about 2 weeks ago but no fix as of yet, if at all. I 'think' it might be a conflict between the boots and the pants/leggins I use (AC Light leggings), don't know if anyone else has this issue, I can get screenies later if needed.
