Would you still use the Act2 backpack if you have another one with a better stat?

If you have done the "Blast from the Past" personal storyline, you would receive a masterwork backpack with an exquisite jewel in it.  So would you still use your act2 backpack then since its stat is inferior to this one from your personal storyline?  If yes, what upgrade would you insert into your act2 backpack?

By the way, I started another thread http://www.guildwars...our-act-2-book/ and I am surprised that people still keep their candy-powered matter meter and act1 book.  Keeping all the backpack and stuff would be a stress on my inventory space. :(

Yeah, I've seen people transmute the Act 2 book skin to the Guild Backpack.

There's no level req on the act 2 backpack so you can only use the basic upgrade component.

Nope, first cause I don't like the stats on it. Second because the looks of book don't really go with any of the my characters.

I got the act 2 backpack on a level 5 thief simply because it will last me until the personal story one. The second I get that, bye bye book! Although I do admit, I've grown fond of it simply because it lights up the area better than a fiery dragon sword and can help a lot in areas like the pirate jump puzzle. I may very well transmute it.

To use a high level upgrade component on it you need to transmute it to another stat set, either the guild backpack or the personal story reward. That's only if you want the skin though (I don't really care for it).

Thank you both for clarification =)

I guess it's personal taste but I never felt the desire to transform my character into a glowing hunchback ^_^

I think so, yes. Even if will look horible outside the halloweeen event, I will keep it for the torch effect it generates it (light around you), I found it usefull in many situations.

I don't know about that, it looks kind of fitting with my HoM fiery gauntlet.

The biggest problem with the book, that I found, was that it doesn't clip well with my norn warrior's double braided longhair.  It looks like her braids just go through the book which looks horrible.

I wish they would make a backpack that looks like a quiver of arrows for my ranger.  That would really fit well with her bow animations.  :)

Right now all my characters have the Act 2 backpack equipped because it's got the best stats of any back-slot item I've gotten so far. But the book is not visible because, in my opinion, a book belongs IN a backpack, not AS a backpack.

I figure eventually, when I got some gold to spare, I'll get the high-end guild backpacks, and actually make them visible.

Oh yeah, that would rock!

Hopefully ArenaNet knows that people want this!

i'm confused. aren't the only backpacks in the game with appearances to transmute the guild ones? does the personal storyline one we get at lvl 80 have a graphic? the one i just received at lvl 33 certainly does not..

Nope it does not.
People are however talking about transmuting the Book skin to the Guild stats. Seeing as the Book stats are rather bad.
